videographers

I am still on the hunt for a good videographer.  I have spoken to several and my question is what is it that makes a good videographer stand out.  Maybe those of you who used one can tell me.  I know price is a difference and quality.  I go on a lot of these sites and honestly everything seems to look the same.  So I was curious what you looked for that I may be missing here.  Thanks!

As with photographers, I think so much has to do with your personality.

I was an Adam Kegg girl last May. I absolutely love my video. During the filming, he was brilliant. He just faded into the background and caught everything without making people feel they had to perform.

As to the video itself, he does a great highlights video, a full run of your wedding and finally a reception film with all of the important bits covered and then some.

The thing that meant the most is that he provided me with several still shots to supplement my photographer. I used Nine Photography and inexplicably they failed to take some key photos during the ceremony.

Thanks!  I love Adam's work but am having trouble with im getting back with me.  He has responded but to get another response takes over a week.  I even left him a message.  It scares me to book someone who is so late in responding.  I am also looking at Austin Walton, Take 4, black and white productions and sonrise.

I don't know if this helps at all, but when we were looking for a videographer Chris really wanted someone that shot in HD just because he loved the quality of it so much more.  Since this wasn't something that we originally budgeted for we were willing to go with someone a little bit newer to the wedding industry and therefore a little less expensive.

We met with Take 4 and with Austin Walton, and mom and I both really enjoyed Austin's personality so that's who we went with.  Hunter with Take 4 was really nice as well, we just clicked with Austin more.

Did you guys like Austin?  That is who I am planning to book with.  Were you happy with the finished product?

My wedding is not until April of next year, so you'll probably see your finished product long before me, haha.  But he did give us 3 full copies of past weddings (the montage, the full toasts, full dances and full ceremony) that we all watched at home.  Watching those is what made us go ahead and book.

He gave me those as well.  I LOVED the montages.  I just wish he was a little less.  I was hoping to stay under $1,500.
