you started a new job and an ex-boyfriend starts on the same day, same place, same department? Cause... that's what happened to me. I really don't care very much because we were never serious and I don't have any ill feelings towards him. Also, should I tell my H? Just to be honest? I'm thinking I will.

    Flash around my left hand. ha ha just kidding.  If there are no ill feelings I don't think it's a big deal.  I'd probably tell my FI just because I would want him to tell me.

    If there are no hard feelings then I wouldn't do anything, or think much of it. I would tell my H, because it would probably look weird if he were to find out later and wonder why you didn't tell him.

    Good advice. I'll tell H just to be honest. He's a good guy, like I said, we get along fine. The guy's acting a little awkward and weird about it. But I don't really care.

    I'm going to go against the grain and say, no, I wouldn't tell, in this case.  You guys were never serious, and it's a non-issue now.  I wouldn't risk making it into one.

    I actually work with 2 ex's. My HS sweetheart and the guy I dated right after him, it was weird at first but we're all still friends and I still go out for drinks with the one and FI. Just be honest with your H so it doesn't become this big thing that was nothing to begin with.

    hmm I partly agree with Tide but I also think NOT telling him when you are thinking about telling him is almost holding back and making it more than it is (does that makes sense)? I would mention it in passing..

    Here's my thinking:  If you tell DH that you're working with an ex, it's now in his mind that ex is there.  You don't want him to think about that every time that you go to work, and worry that something may be going on, when there is absolutely nothing to worry about.  If he were to find out that ex worked there, and ask why you didn't say anything, then you could tell him you didn't see the need to say anything, because there was really nothing to talk about.

    But, it's really up to you, and what you think is best for your relationship.

    If this person wasn't your ex, would it be noteworthy enough to tell your FI?  If the only thing that makes this worth telling him is the fact that he's your ex, if the relationship wasn't serious, I wouldn't tell.  I had a life before my FI, and there isn't anything to hide, or reveal, about that.  However, if you've cataloged every person you dated and shared it with your FI, then I can see having the need to put it out there.  News like this would only make me more curious, but I am like that....
