Ahh procrastination will bite you in the ass every single time. After a pretty bad injury, had to sit the out of the gym for a couple months. I'm cleared to go back now but I've gained about 10-15 pounds in the course of winter and the hiatus. My dress now looks like it will explode at any second, releasing the fleshiness that is now my body. I have 78 days until my wedding, when I will face video cameras and photographers, along with a few catty guests that my parents decided to invite against my will. Obviously, THIS CANNOT STAND!! Please, if you have any workout, nutrition, willpower tips, send them my way. Am trying to stick to 1500 day, and imagine the unwanted guests as bunching bags at the gym. However, I need all the help I can get! Thanks!!!
Re: Wedding in 78 days, dress is sausage-looking tight and I am officially freaking out!!
I'm telling you Weight Watchers all the way! You can even sign up on line (if you don't want to go to meetings or don't have the time). It will hold you accountable for what you are eating on top of working out in the gym. Very very little alcohol (if you drink), stay away from processed foods, only lean protein (no red meat), and stay away from refined sugars. You'll see a difference quickly. I dropped 10 lbs in my first month on WW.
And remember to vary your work outs. If you do the same thing too much, your body burns calories less efficiently. If you have access to a rowing machine, use it! Total body workout and it'll kick your butt.
And for toning, you can't beat pilates. I prefer Windsor Pilates (you can buy the DVD at any sporting goods stores. Even some places like Target have it).
You can totally do this! Just disipline yourself hardcore. Get your man to do the diet with you, it'll help. Good Luck!
Good Luck! You can do it!!!
[QUOTE]I would drop your caloric intake down to 1200 instead of 1500.... 1500 is usually what you should eat to maintain body weight.... I haven't tried it, but I heard PX90 is awesome- usually you can get cheap or bootleg copies on craigslist. Just remember to keep changing up your workouts- if you fall into the same boring routine you won't really see changes. Good luck! and try not to stress- it definitely won't help the issue!!!

That all depends on your body weight and activity level. Maintenance is more like 2000 cal a day for most.
OP, have you talked to a seamstress? How much can your dress be let out? Does your dress have a corset? Can one be added?
I would suggest finding out how long you can wait on getting alterations done (like the ones I mentioned above) and then bust ass at the gym until then.
I lost a lot of inches lifting heavy weights, check out the New Rules of Lifting for Women. I'd also suggest 2 weekly sessions of HIIT (and true, balls to the wall, leave nothing in the tank HIIT at that) with 2-3 fully body intense lifting sessions. Be sure to give yourself a day of rest too. Recovery is important.
You're also going to want to eat for fat loss, ie, clean and with around 30% of your calories coming from protein, with the balance around 40% good complex carbs and 30% from good fats.
Drink plenty of water, get enough sleep and giv'er.
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
See if your gym offers Zumba...it is so much fun you don't even realize you are working out...I hate to workout but love to dance...
aerm0911,
I lost 12 pounds in two months by eating half of every meal. By consuming half, you'll consume half the calories and also your body will get used to eating less and you will be full quicker.
I was 140 and although that may not seem so big, I am short and petite so it showed. I started in mid october and it is december and I am 128 now.
Hope this helps!
Ok, I had to do this not long ago and was able to lose a lot of weight really really fast. Get the Slim in 6 workout and try doing a food combo diet. It sounds old and outdated but the suzanne summers one is amazing! I promise you it works so well. With this i was able to eat and still be full. If you cut calories your body will just adjust to it and you will put on a ton of weight after you get married when you quit eating that low. Your metabolism won't be able to keep up because it was slowed down so much.
Just stay focused and keep yourself in check. It will work.I promise! You can do it!
I also highly recommend P90x - or some other workout program that is high-cardio with light toning exercises included. If you're looking for something good but not too intense (aka, easier to stick to), TK has a regime they recommend that I've found to be pretty sucessful! http://wedding.theknot.com/wedding-beauty-tips/wedding-workout-exercise/articles/six-month-fitness-makeover.aspx Between this and my restrictive diet I've lost 25lbs and toned up alot!
Good luck hun and remember, ultimately you will look beautiful no matter what!!
