Vent: Disappointed in Vista Print

So we ordered STDs from Vista Print.  They arrived at my parent's house while I was home over vacation.  They were supposed to look like this:

Well, when they arrived the background looked purple, not gray.  We contacted Vista Print and they said they would reprint them for free.  The new ones just arrived yesterday at my parent's house and my mom said they're still purple, just lighter.  She called VP and they said they've never gotten complaints before and it's their template and they don't think there is anything they can do about.  They are going to refund us but now we're back at square one.  I have no idea what kind of STDs I want now since I don't feel like using VP anymore.  I really liked these too :(

I'm sorry :( Is it that big of deal since they're STDs not invites? Could you make them work?
  • Any time I have had an issue with Vista Print they have corrected it immediately and free of charge.  You should definitely contact them and see if there is anything they could do for you.

  • magnetstreet.com is pretty awesome. They did a great job with ours. I also have a coupon code you can use too. I will look for it and pm it to you if you're interested.
  • I did mention it in my original post but the good news is their Customer Service has been great to work with.

  • That's too bad--that design was really cute! I hope you can find something else that you like.
  • It's cool that they've been pleasant to deal with, but a bummer for sure. It took me so long to pick out my design...I can only imagine the stress of being back at square one. :( I found ours at Wedding Paper Divas if you haven't checked them out yet...

  • I was going to go with Vista Print but since I waited so long I didn't want to pay the extra shipping and handling fees. I went with Kodak and picked them up. My Save the Dates turned out great.
  • Do you have a larger picture you could post? It's hard to see that one clearly.

Could you make the template yourself? I could help you if you wanted.

<div>I do agree with this. We ordered ours in sets of 50 and 10. One of the sets of 10 had a streak across it and they're expediating the new ones out to us.</div>
  • VP is usually really good.  I'm glad they were able to work with you at least.  My only guess would be to do one of two things if you still want to use VP.  1) Check your monitor settings.  Maybe the colors are off.  2) Design it yourself and then just upload it.

Good luck and keep us posted.

  • So sorry. I have always had good luck with VP. I didn't like any of the templates so I designed my own and uploaded them to the site. Some of the templates will let you change colors maybe you can pick a different color that would work?

  • What if you copy the design and make it a bit grey-er then upload it?

Thanks for all the suggestions.  My mom is a graphic designer and we have viewed it on 4 different monitors and she even printed it at work and they all look gray like we want.  When she talked to Vista Print they didn't sound optimistic that anything would be better than what they already did.  We're starting over, using a photo from our engagement session and possibly using Shutterfly to print.
