Help with venue...

I am looking for an affordable reception venue around the Columbus, Ohio area that will let you bring your own food and alcohol. Any ideas???

You are probably going to have to go with just a basic party hall where you rent the room and do everything else yourself. But some places won't let you bring in your own alcohol, so make sure you ask before booking. Due to legal requirements, some places require you to have a licensed bartender.

check church halls and vfw/knights of columbus stuff.
also look into arlington swim & racquet. i don't remember if they let you bring in everything but i think they at least let you choose your own catering. can't remember.

I believe the Gahanna Sanctuary lets you do this and are really affordable. I thought about having our wedding there and the women I spoke with were really nice

The Kelton House and Upper Arlington Swim and Racquet Club would both work. Kelton house is lovely and quaint, but lot a good location for a reception over 100 people IMO.

Thank you for all of your suggestions. I really like the racquet club and it says right on their site that they allow you to bring your own food and alcohol. Perfect for my DIY wedding!

Good luck with your wedding.  I didn't offer any input because I didn't really have any.  But, come back and share some details of your wedding!!

We looked at the S&R Club and we really liked it. We ended up picking another venue, but we are looking into it for my bridal shower. It's nice, you should definitely check it out. :)

We had ours at the Olde Gahanna Sanctuary - they have pretty much no rules regarding catering, alcohol / bartenders and decorations.

North Bank Park is really pretty.  I think you have to bring your own stuff.

I don't know the prices with olde gahanna sanctuary, but I wil just tell you my friend is a total cheap-o and she booked there and is so excited she can bring her own caterer in and she can bring her own alcohol. They have no rules and they are very easy going.

Bryn Du Mansion is a great venue in Granville, Ohio which is like 30 minutes away.  Check out the website: www.bryndu.com
