Need help with wedding ideas!!!

Okay. I need help with wedding ideas. Because My fiance's mom and dad don't speak or understand english and some of my family don't understand or speak spanish. What should I do? Where can I get a cheap engagement ring and wedding band from? This is my first wedding and my first time planning it.

  • I thought about that. But I don't know anyone who can understand english to speak spanish. I got alot of work today with this. I don't know any songs which have spanish and english in them but one. I feel like going crazy. Because I don't know what to do. Do you think that them rings on amazon is real? Because I found one i like but i don't know if it is real or not.

  • Amazon is a pretty reputable online company, I think you'll do fine with just about anything you purchase from them.

I don't know what to tell you about the english/spanish deal though, talk to your FI, I'm sure you can figure something out?

  • Can you hire a bilingual officiant? I'm not sure how common they are in your area, but when we searched for a bilingual Justice of the Peace, we found dozens, contacted the ones we felt compatible with, and narrowed down our final choice from there. Our JOP will have FI reciting his vows in Spanish, and mine in English. This was extremely important to us, and it's the best choice we've made in wedding planning.

As for rings, we bought my wedding ring on clearance at a Zales outlet. It was originally priced at $2200, and I got it for $799. If you have any reputable jewelers with outlets in your area, you could check them out, or look at the Sale section of their websites.

    Good luck with your planning!

  • RINGS:  Don't shop online and don't shop in mall stores.   Find a reputable WHOLESALER, and you will be buying directly.  DH bought my ering for exactly half price through a local wholesaler.  We bought the wedding bands from JCPenney, which has dramatically upgraded the jewelry they sell.  My band is white gold, cost $60.  FI got a titanium band for $120.

  • There is a bridal set about 49.00 that I really like.

  • My SIL got married last year and her husband is Brazilian.  They had an officiant who did the ceremony in Portugese and his wife translated in English after each couple lines.  It worked great.  Don't let yourself get stressed.

My husband got my ering and we got our bands from bluenile.com.  They were great.  I'd highly recommend them.  My ring appraised for much higher than my husband paid for it.
  • I would look for a bilingual officiant. Im not sure how easy that'll be, but I feel that that's your best route.

If you like the 49.00 set, go for it. If you're happy with it, that's what matters. However, Im curious as to why your trying to buy your own engagement ring? If cost is a major factor, rings aren't mandatory. There are plenty of individuals that didn't/don't have an engagement ring and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

  • As for rings, I got mine e-ring from JCPenny online an their customer sevice is amazing.  Truly recommend.  Also, walmart, overtsock and amazon have great prices on rings, as well as ebay.

We're having a semi-bilingual ceremony.  Our invites wer done in English for the English speakers (mainly my side) and Sapnish for fi's family who don't speak English.  I want the ceremony to be mainly in English though...with some parts in Spanish or both.
