Hi Ladies,
I was wondering if you have any recommendations for a good calligrapher? Also, how much does it typically cost per piece?

I don't have any recommendations for you unfortunately, but as far as pricing goes, I've heard it's about $1 per envelope.

I used Calligraphy by Michele (http://calligraphybymichele.blogspot.com/) based out of NY. I found her from a reccomendation here, and she was really easy to work with and more affordable than some I found in the area. I also got tons of complements on the envelopes, which surprised me.

I just mailed her the envelopes and emailed her my list. Here prices last year were:

$1.15 per outer envelopes, return address, or RSVP envelope
.35 per inner envelope or placecard

Im not doing the whole calligraphy thing...but i have had a variety of friends who have. They all reccommended to go to any community college and post in their art department for it. Apparently they all need a certain amount of hours of community art projects in order to obtain class credits...so they will do it for free just for the hours. They have all done it that way. Free is best!!!
