I want to find out if anyone "won" anything at the Bridal Show. I'm thinking some of the vendors call EVERYONE and tell them they "won" something when really they are just trying to drum up business. Anyone wanna share?
I've only heard from one of the vendors that I won something. Of course it wasn't something I cared about. The vendors I was really hoping would call and offer me something have not. Booo. haha.
Guess what?? I was a "big" winner from Celebrity China too!! What a crazy coincidence!! LOL!!! And the worst part is that they sell your number & email to other companies... I get at least 4 or 5 calls a day from telemarketers that I "won" something.
I think it is worth it, especially for DJs- it's a chance to talk to lots of them and weed out the "Slick Ricks." That's what we did and then made appointments with those we got positive vibes from. Because after meeting face to face with creepy vendors who sound good on paper, we wanted to minimize any further frustration.
But yeah, don't give anyone your name. I get approximately 9,765 emails a day because I gave out my info at the show in August. Ugh.
Oh goodness- ok, that's what I thought. Evil, guess we both one on their hourly drawing....... haha! Whatever, I wish I really won something, but I think it's still worth it to go for exactly what Sari said.
I totally still think it's worth it to go just like Sari said. We definitely narrowed down our DJ list and found 2 amazing videographers that even managed to convince FI that it would be a good investment.
Plus, there's a booze stand there, so that made it all more bearable too!
I got a call that I won something and had to go to the Double tree resort to claim my prize. I didn't enter in any trips though, so I was like yeah, I'm busy, bye! I think it's worth it, but it's annoying to get our info sold. I'm getting a lot of stuff at my house when I never gave any vendors my address. So that means that the bridal show itself sold our info.
hahaha i know, i signed up under that name years ago as a funny joke i share with my future stepkids, can't change it without starting a whole new account- boo!
We are b/t two of them- Vongspoth Studios and Nobox Films. Both do amazing, movie-quality work and have very similar pricing. And the videographers for both are a husband/wife or boyfriend/girlfriend team, which i like. I think my FI is leaning towards Vongspoth, but we'll probably have a sit-down with both before we decide.
I was just telling my fiance tonight that I am never going to one of these things again. I, too, was a big winner from Celebrity China, who now calls me at least twice a day. I've also gotten close to 50 emails from vendors who I didn't even talk to at the bridal show, which makes me think the information I gave when I ordered my tickets online was shared without my knowledge.
Luckily I am pretty much done finding all of my vendors, as I found the bridal show to be a bit overwhelming. There's no organization to it at all, and I felt like everyone was a bit pushy. I just went for cake and alcohol samples...which there was NOT enough of! I only saw three vendors who had cake samples, and all three were quite dry. And I only saw one alcohol stand that was a bit pricey. Definitely was hoping for a better experience!
That is too funny. Legacy Video is my brother in law and Sister in law. They do good work but calling every person who entered saying that they won is annoying.

The bridal show was so crowded and I also ended up getting miserable amounts of email as did my FI. We did meet and book our DJ AND new cake designer from going to the show. We already had dress, clothes, rings, venue, etc...so it served its purpose. i also appreciated the beer and wine stand and the fashion show was kind of cool.

I got Nobox's demo- it looked amazing.... def $$$ though.... so I don't think it's hapening for us!
And I agree, Taryn- I think this is my last time going. I did, however, like the Raspberry Rum Cake from Robert's :-)
