what kind of games do you play at a wedding?

Re: wedding games?

  • I've never been to a wedding with games. Its a wedding, not a child's birthday party.
  • We're having some board games at ours, but we're not "playing" them in a formal sense. What kind of games do you mean?
  • I've never been to a wedding with games, either.  Usually drinking, dancing, and socializing keeps everyone occupied.

  • IMO, games don't belong at weddings, unless you have a kids' corner or something and bring some games for the kids to play. It just makes it seem like a birthday party,, like a PP mentioned. I would skip it. If you have good food and drink and some music, guests will enjoy themselves and can keep themselves entertained by socializing, eating, and drinking. I don't think anyone goes to a wedding with the intent to play games.

  • We'll have some lawn games, like Twister and Jenga. We'll have a pretty informal wedding and I know that this is something our friends and family will enjoy.

To each their own, and if you don't want games, I don't see why you should have them. But I don't think that having them will turn my wedding into a children's birthday party, thank you.

<div>I don't think there's any issue with lawn games.  I was thinking more along the lines of pin the tail on the donkey, the trivia games people do, things like that.  THAT seems like a kid's birthday party to me, especially when people are forced to watch/participate.  Things that are available for guests but as something they can do if they choose to do, not a problem.</div>
