CT is the 10th most expensive place to get married in the US- what's your budget?

http://shine.yahoo.com/the-thread/from-cupcakes-to-ball-gowns-theknot-coms-new-2011-wedding-stats-are-in-.html

So this article that someone posted on my wedding month board says the average wedding in CT costs $33,789. Couldn't find if that includes honeymoon. How close is that to your budget?

Our budget for 220 invited guests, w/o the honeymoon and my rings, is $30,000.  The fact that $33+K is the average is sickening, but also makes me feel better about how much I'm spending.

  • We managed to get ours done (and I say done because it's all paid for and I have 5 days left) for 7k. We are having it in a beautiful hotel and serving a full meal with open bar for about 80 people. Our ceremony has a pianist, the reception has a dj, and. Have gorgeous flowers, a cake, and all the fixings-- favors etc. I don't know where these numbers come from. Another 100 people would still have only put us at 16k. Granted, our hm isn't included in this figure so we're probably at 11 with that. Otoh.... I diy'ed everything I could.

  • Our wedding is in 3 days and we are around 10k for 80 guests full open bar passed appitizers and full sit down dinner. That's with parents paying florist, a friend making our cake for a low price and my counsin is our dj. That does not include HM or my engagement ring
