That snarky bride's post is out of control

I'm only on page 2.  Who knew one tiny post about a shower could cause such an uproar.  They're talking BC, welfare, college grants, and ER visits.  I'll I've gathered so far is most are stupid.  I also find it amazing nobody has come over here to start a "board war."

I like how they keep saying Misscourtney is paying back into the system now.  She's an unmarried teacher with 2 kids.  I'd venture she doesn't actually pay ANYTHING into the federal tax system.

I hate showers.  For me, it all boils down to the fact that if you can afford it - you shouldn't be having a shower.  And if you can't afford it - you shouldn't be having a kid.  Those are ideal circumstances, which I realize rarely happen.

We were gifted many things (and graciously many of you sent gifts as well) for which we are/were grateful.  However, there was no way I was going to allow anyone to throw me a shower for items I could reasonably afford.  And the items we registered for we were simply hoping to get for the 10 and 20% coupons off.

I just peeked over there--149 replies?  Really?  Unfortunately, I don't have time to read them, nor do I want to sacrifice that many brain cells at once.

    <div> that's key for me. </div><div>
</div><div>i don't see any problem with throwing showers for people who planned appropriately and can afford their kid - my shower was a nice opportunity to see my family and friends that i only see a few times/year. i lived at least 2 hours from most people on my guest list when I was in Philly, and considerably further now. I was thrilled that so many of them were able to make the trip. If i was concerned about cash, I wouldn't have spent $250ish on airfare to get to the shower. </div>

I need to go sneak a peek at that. Unreal.

I agree with you, Skankenstein. I am having a shower, but it's not because we can't afford to buy whatever we need for Mr. Loverman.

This reminds me of a story about an unwed mother of 2. I'll save it for another thread.

None of them even know what a real board war is.  Pretty sure they think talking about another board on SB = board war.  Haven't you seen all the lame KPS about E and SB?

Also, I've tried reading one or two of their 5 pagers, they just go in circles and say the same sh!t that was said on page 2.  I suppose that is what happens when you have 100+ people on one board that can't think for themselves.  Sort of like most of the bump.

I haven't checked the post since yesterday.  Are they even talking about showers?  Or just single mothers/young mothers?  Because the whole point of our discussion was the shower.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if that one got sent out in the email they do once a week or so with the "hottest" forum posts?  *gigglesnerk*
