Bar Deposit...MISSING!! ughhhhh.

So, we decided to hire a bartender for the reception and finally got the whole contract and everything worked out ( with orlando private bartending services)...mailed them the deposit via money order like a week and a half ago...from Melbourne to Orlando, so it should only take a couple of days, right? Well, I emailed them today since I hadn't heard from them and WTF...they never even got it!! I called Amscot where we got the money order and had them track it...ITS ALREADY BEEN CASHED!!!

DOUBLE WTFFF.

So, either they're trying to rip me off...OR some dumba** allowed it to be cashed without even asking for ID or anything...and what else is weird is that it was made out to the COMPANY...not even an individual...

I'm so irritated right now because if we just have $250 randomly missing, then that seriously cuts into our bar budget. =( Grrrr.

Anyone else ever had issues with Amscot money orders??

I always understood money orders to work pretty much same as cash but that really sucks big time. I'm sorry you're dealing with this - $250 is a big chunk of change to just disappear

OMG THEY FOUND IT!!

I had a 2 hour long freak out...running all over the place, calling corporate and everything, thinking we'd have to hire some kid to bartend our wedding...then the bar ppl call me and were like..."OOPS!, we found it!"

*breeeatheee* That was nearly a catastrophe.

Sorry you're going through this! I hope they find it! Call them back and say that you were told that it was already cashed...maybe Amscot can give you the name of the bank and the account number or something...
