grand march - yuk

I dont want a grand march where all the couples dance with eachother and switch partners... it reminds me too much of being on prom court. just wondering if anyone had any other ideas....as of now my party might just be getting introduced as we walk into the reception hall for dinner

  • You can just have the DJ announce the wedding party as you enter the reception hall.  There is no need for a weddnig party dance.

  • Yeah, most people don't like WP dances. WP members typically don't because they're dancing with strangers, and it's kind of boring for your guests. Just have them introduced into the hall and they can take their seats.

  • Those wedding dances are just awkward and unnecessary.  The last few weddings I've been in, just the bride and groom dance with one another after everyone's been introduced.

  • Not too many people actually do the whole "make the wedding party dance with each other" thing anymore. Mainly, because everybody involved tends to hate doing it.

Just pick a fun song and have them walk in as the DJ introduces them. Any DJ worth his speakers knows how to do this, so no worries!

If you fire a WP member, you're against America.

  • I've never seen anything remotely like what you're describing.  Usually the DJ just announces each pair of attendants, who enter and take their seats.  And that's if there's a WP introduction at all, most of the weddings I've been to (including ours) didn't have one.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • I've never seen a Grand March...I've always just seen the dj introduce the WP - sometimes with a fun song on, sometimes with a boring song on.

  • The last several weddings I've been to have just had the wedding party introduced as they enter to music, they go to their seats and then whatever is next on the agenda - either everyone takes their seats for dinner or the bride and groom have their first dance. I haven't seen a wedding party dance in quite awhile.
  • I personally hate introductions. So we're not doing anything at all. It's the same venue, and we're doing pre-ceremony pictures, so we're just going to go get cocktails like everyone else and then sit down, like everyone else.
