Ok guys. I am WAYYYY behind on everything (thank you, Olympic Games, for consuming every waking moment of the past week - go team USA!). FI and I are both off tomorrow and decided we MUST get these darn invitations DONE.
We shopped around at various sites but ultimately couldn't see spending nearly $500 on paper. My sister said she was confident she could help DIY them (I don't have a printer and she does - also, she made my bridal shower invites w/ no problem).
So, I looked on cards and pockets.com and found that cardstock could be ordered in bulk (and is very resonably priced). So, we we're thinking of doing a 5" by 7" pocket (
http://www.cardsandpockets.com/panelpocket5x7-2.aspx?variation=14010) and then mounting a 5" by 7" invite on it and doing 3" by 5" enclosure cards.
has anyone else gone this route for inviations? Is this going to end up being a ton of work? Do these dimensions sound right?
I'm so hesitant to take on such a big project. I'm not crafty and always said I would pay more to get out of DIYing anything because I didn't want to be stressed. But now we are getting so close and I'm realizing how over budget we are. fancy invites from weddingpaperdivas would be nice, but we'd be spending about $500 versus about $150 doing it this way.
