    No one can answer that.  It's going to vary a ton depending on how your weight is distributed, your body fat percentage, etc.

    Well, the age of the dress will be a factor too.  A size 9 when it was made is not going to be the same as a size 9 now.  In fact, wedding dresses aren't even MADE in odd sizes anymore. 

    What would probably be more helpful is if you could tell us how much the zipper (or closure) didn't close by: if you can give a measurement estimate in inches (like there was a 1 inch or so gap), we can give you a better idea of how close you are.
