So I planned my date part way so I woudnt get my period. Now it jumped a week early and it looks like it will start the day of the wedding and wont end until a day before we get back from the honeymoon! I am soooo upset. Also no im not on birthcontrol so I cant skip it for a month.

    Bring protection?

ETA: Stress also changes your cycle, so it is possible that you could be late or even early in October.

  • Trust me, its not the end of the world. Is it an inconvenience? Sure, but there is nothing you can do about it at this point and honestly, stressing about it will only make things worse. All you can do at this point is prepare and bring protection.

    Dont worry about it!

  • I sure hope so. It has never done this before. I will be ok if it jumps next month too.

  • It sucks. It does. Mine actually went the same way. It was starting at the same time of month our wedding will be and then jumped over 3-4 months to a week later and now it's back. It is what it is. I know I'm fortunate that I only have one really bad day per month so it doesn't really bother me. Other than that, I'd just say make sure there's Motrin in someone's purse for you and use super-plus tampons. Also, try to avoid salt and avoid as much caffeine as you can if you're like me and retain some fluids, especially if your dress is more fitted.

It could skip again. Since I've gotten off of hormonal BC I tend to jump or lag by a day or do each month for a couple of months and then stay stable and then jump or lag again. But even with that you're probably going to deal with it around your wedding. Since it looks like you are going on a honeymoon, I recommend using the shower or bathtub for sexytimes if the blood bothers you,  or put down a towel on the bed (if you go that route, do rinse the towel out with cold water before you leave it for housekeeping).  Assumptively your FI knows that this is going to happen once a month for a long time. I know not everyone likes period sex, and if it's  not comfortable for you I can see not doing it, but for a lot of people it's not that bad, just messy.

  • Its not that big of a deal to him. We have been living together for two years and he is so use to it. I just feel its a big pain in the butt to deal with. Sigh sometimes the planning goes right out the window!!!!

I think it's likely that stress will throw it off again. I haven't even looked at a calender to see if I'm due for my period for the wedding or honeymoon, but I'm not too worried about it. There are plenty of other things to freak out over (and I've been doing my fair share of freaking out). :)

ETA: Oh, and you're getting married the day after I am. Yay!

Totally understand. Lately, little stressful situations seem like much bigger deals than they would seem if I weren't getting married in under two months. Thankfully, FI is the most laid-back person I know (to an annoying fault sometimes) so he's been helping me relax.

  • Yeah, sometimes life does that to ya. I started BCP too close to my wedding & ended up having my period during my wedding & for the first few days of the honeymoon. Yeah, it sucked. But it didn’t take anything away from my wedding day. So it ended up not being as big of a deal as I was making it.
  • Some gynocologists can hook you up with something to delay perhaps. Maybe try a dr visit?
  • I'm not on BCP anymore, but I'm planning on starting it for a month a few weeks before the wedding to ensure I don't get it...
  • I thought about doing that but I stopped taking the medicen because I could not take it on time and it was messing up my cycle to begin with. My doc wouldnt let me change meds so in the end I decided to stop. I think I will just hope for the best.
