Alexia Gavela- thoughts?

Has anyone bought a dress here?  Does anyone know why the dresses are so inexpensive- are they all last season's collections?  I don't mind that, but I recently saw a dress there that I really liked, then saw that a girl from my HS just wore the same dress in her wedding- I'm assuming she bought it some time last year.  How is the service- portraits- wedding day?

    LOVE! That's how I feel!

    I tried on a dress last October there that was a Fall 2009 collection, so it was current. I never compared the prices, so I don't really know. I bought it in January and it came in early June, a few weeks earlier than their estimate. 

    Service is exceptional. Geri is awesome at helping to find the right gown. I swear he will be just as excited as you when you find the right one. 

    Their alterations are rumored to be very reasonable (My first fitting is in  a few weeks). They offer free storage and steaming for your bridals and wedding day. 

    I am so thankful that I got recommendations from this board to go there.

    Everything that SarahPLiz said, I agree with.

    I also bought my dress at Alexia Gavela two months ago (actually, it's the exact same dress that SarahPLiz bought) and hands down Geri is awesome. He was attentive and really knows his stuff. The same dress at Belle Saison was $300 more.

    Really, sheaday? I love that dress. Its so gorgeous. I'd love to see how it looks on someone else, though. If you have a picture of you in it, would you mind posting it?

    Yep, Casablanca 1971!  LOVE IT! It was the bottom of the dress that caught my eye and I knew it was the one before I even tried it on. I don't have any pics of me in it on my pc (scared fiance will see it!) but I'll upload them and send you a PM.

    AWESOME- I cannot say enough how wonderful Geri was...I was in on a whirlwind planning trip (I live in Chicago- getting married in Austin) and thought I would just try a place or two since my mom (from Houston) and my future mother-in-law (from Cincinnati) would both be there- but I thought for sure I would wait til Houston to actually find the dress- but low and behold- I found it at Alexica Gavela- I knew going in they had Pronovia dresses that I loved- and all four in the running were Pronovia designed---I am so in love with my dress!!!

    Bought mine there too! I had a great experience. My dress comes in Sept. and I can't wait to see it!!  The service is great- give them a try!

    One more nice thing about Geri-

    I was at Joann tonight getting fabric for the FG dress. I saw him there and he totally recognized me. I reminded him which dress I bought, and he said that teh fabric I picked was spot on to match they color and style. I am NOT good at any of that stuff, so I was very grateful for the help. I believe that he really does care about his brides.

    I know ShanWalk bought her dress there - it was beautiful!  I actually had my alterations done there since the place I bought my dress didn't have anyone to do alterations on-site.  Geri is amazing and he made sure my dress was perfect.  The alterations were reasonably priced, too.  If you want to see how my dress turned out, you can check out thethomps.weebly.com.
