RSVPs are coming in!

Our friends and family are really on top of their s***! We sent out the invitations Monday morning and we've already received 5 back. Four accepting and one declining. How exciting! I will know the mailman's schedule down to the minute. He better not be late!

Don't get your hopes too high......there's always those few that come in really soon......then all the rest take their sweet time.....literally. I had like half of my guests not send them back. Annoying....especially when I paid for envelopes and postage for them!

i second kinmir! a few days after mom sent them out, i had about 25 responses (we are going green and having the guests rsvp to our wedding web site).  now it has been a week and a half and only an additional dozen have responded.  Over a hundred to go!!
I am like a falling star who has finally found her place next to another in a lovely constellation, where we will sparkle in the heavens forever

We did post cards to save some money; so far have about 30 out of 150 sent and it's been about a month since they went out.  I do see a lot of clustering of returns but am not too worried yet as the deadline is still 3 weeks away (gave myself lots of follow up time).

Been hearing a lot of "I need to send it in, but I'll be there".  Okay, somewhat helpful, but come on, I didn't print the cards for the heck of it!  The funny ones are the people who send a wedding card with the post card inside marked "sorry".  At least I can reuse the stamp!

Frogger5:  I hope the rest of your RSVPs keep rolling in!

I agree with the other posts, RSVPs can be a huge PITA, and a lot of people don't seem to understand the importance of an accurate headcount!  Very frustrating Yell

I just finished my invites last night!  My wedding is August 27th, and it looks like andielizabeth's is too.  I thought I'd read you send invites out about 8 weeks before hand?  But then this morning theknot checklist said 3 months before!  Wondering if I'm late now...my RSVP cards ask for a reply by July 23rd so thought I'd give a month to RSVP...

erinmmcd - I think there's a wide range of when people send them out. We did two and a half months (wedding is Aug 19th) since lots of people are coming in from out of town and also people were asking us all of the details that would be in the invites anyway, so we just sent them. Pretty much everyone will get them in the first week you send them out, then they might need two weeks to make arrangements, then send them back - another week. Most venues need final head count two weeks before, and you might need a week to track down those who didn't respond, so 7 weeks would be the latest I would leave it - 8 will be fine!
