dumb question re: drink calculators

our venue lets us bring our own alcohol which is AWESOME.  i've been playing around with various online drink calculators and i have a rough guesstimate of how much we need.

re: hard liquor, the sites state how many "bottles" are needed.  do you think they're referring to the 750mL bottles?  or the 1.75L bottles?   (we usually buy those at costco, so maybe they just look normal sized to me.)

i know we could probably return the unopened bottles and i would rather overestimate than underestimate....but not by more than double!  that seems a little over the top.

anybody?  sorry if this is a dumb question.  :)

Definitely check to see if unopened bottles and cases can be returned.  We did this for our wedding and had close to $1000 of alcohol left over.  Luckily we were able to return the unopened bottles and get our money back.  If not then we would have had enough liquor to tide us over for many, many years.

None of the online drink calculators say?

If you can't figure it out online, I'd go to a liquor store and ask.

I would guess that they are referring to 750ml.
I also usually get booze at Costco, so Im used to the larger bottles.
