Presents!

Oh boy!  I feel like a little kid at Christmas!  This is really happening and for me to realize it was by two huge create and barrel boxes at my door.  haha!  I know sad.

Okay girls, I have a question.  Our wedding isn't till October.  I want to use correct etiquette.  Do we open them now?  If so do we send the thank you cards out right away.  Or, do we open them after the wedding?

I believe proper etiquette is, you open them now and send the TY right away but don't use the gift before the wedding.

But I am really one to talk because I waited to send all my Thank You's until after the wedding.  Oops.

I was too afraid of the Etiquette board when I was planning to go over there.

Open them now and send a Thank You right away. You want to make sure the gift giver knows it arrived. There are some various rules of thought about using the gift or not, but thats up to you. We didn't use any of the gifts until after the wedding. Definitely send a Thank You, though.

I did like Emi.  Bill didn't want to open them but Mariah had a great point:  you want to make sure that nothing is broken or damaged.

I agree with PPs to open now and send a thank you so the givers know everything arrived and is intact.  I have also heard that you should send an additional thank you after the wedding, which is what I plan on doing.  Anyway... I'm anticipating my picture thank you cards and want everyone to see us in our wedding duds even if they were unable to attend.

    Congrats on the gifts!  Whoohoo!

I totally agree with everyone that says to open it and send a thank you card now.

I got so worried about one wedding that I went to last year that we ordered off BB&B and shipped it straight to them about 4 weeks before the wedding. I could tell it was delivered, but I didn't know if it was just left on the door stop and someone stole it or something.

I didn't get a thank you card until after the wedding, but I worried until that thank you card came that something happened to the gift.
