Handmade Favors

Many of our guest are traveling from out of town to attend our wedding so I really want to do something special for our favor.  I feel edible is not the road for us, instead I would like to do something hand made.  Unfortunately I am not very creative so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  My wedding is Dec 1st so I was thinking something holiday related?

Re: Handmade Favors

  • Ornaments!  There are all different types of ornaments you could buy and personalize yourself.  I thought about doing that when I considered doing a December wedding.

    THIS!
  • I went to a December wedding.  The bride used simple red, gold, or white ornaments (her colors), and threaded them with a small personalized ribbon.  She hung a smaller ornament from each wine glass on the table.  That was the favor the guest could take home.  She used other ornaments of the same colors, but some with patterns, such as filligree, and filled clear glass vases to use on tables as centerpieces.

I hang mine every year and think fondly of the couple and their special day.

Bear in mind, however, that not every guest in attendance may have a use for an ornament if they do not celebrate Christmas.
  • I made this handmade personalized favors match with the occassion theme:-))

  • I was going to suggest ornaments as well. Candles are another favor you can handmake and I have heard it's not too hard to do with kits out there. You do do holiday colors (lots of peopel I know light up candles for the holiday season) and a personlaized one from your wedding will bring back fun memories for your guest.
