Symptothermal ladies - BBT recommendations?

So... I've been using Creighton for charting the last 2.5 years and after about 9 months of unsuccessful TTC and super messed up charts/cycles... my NFP doctor recommended charting temperature as well to cross-check and determine if I'm actually ovulating.  Do you ladies who use Sympto-thermal have any recommendations for basal body temp thermometers?

I'm not too excited about adding the early morning temperature checks to my charting regimen... but if it helps with TTC and diagnosing my problems... I think I'll survive :)

When I was Symptothermal, I used the Target brand first which was okay. Then switched to BD brand which is the one they sell from the CCL website. I liked it better for accuracy but it beeps every 5 seconds or something while it takes your temperature which is kind of annoying.

    Good luck!

ETA: I honestly would send you my BBT if you want it, but my mouth has been on it if that eeks you out :)

  • i got the one from couple to couple league - that battery just wont die!  super reliable.
  • the beeps let you know that you are holding the thermometer in your mouth properly... I've gotten so used to them, I have actually taken my temperature without truly waking up!
  • The beeps are super annoying, but I'm sure, as Riss said ,you get used to it!  Good luck, Newly!

  • I used one that I bought from CVS. It was their own brand. I felt it worked well since we conceived on the first cycle.

<div>Yup :-)  She's awesome!  I'm just not excited at all to start all the blood tests, progesterone shots and ultrasounds... no idea how I'm going to fit that into my work schedule!</div>
  • I used the one that Riss recommended.  Since we use Billings now, I just use it as a regular thermometer, but I do like it. It remembers the temp, so you can just go back to sleep after temping and record later!

  • Thanks for the recommendations, ladies!  We'll be buying that B&D/3M one pronto :-)
  • I like that the BD one beeps every few seconds, it lets you know it's positioned properly

  • I use the NexCare one as well--it came with my CCL package.
