Free make-up artist - tip???

A lady I babysit for sells Mary Kay and she is going to do my make-up for a trial, bridals, and ceremony with no charge. I do plan to buy the lip gloss because I will want to refresh. I absolutely want to give her a good tip. But, I need help. How much should I tip her for all three services and should I tip after each or all at the end with a thank-you card?
Thanks!!

Re: Free make-up artist - tip???

  • i would tip after each service and I would tip at least $10 for the trial and at least $20 for the ceremony. I don't know what you mean by the bridals. In my area, a lot of make up counters charge $50 for makeovers so I'm using that figure to help come up with a tip amount. However I would give a bigger tip on the wedding day since I'm assuming she is doing it on site and it is very generous of her  do all of this for free.
  • Sorry I didn't explain better. She is also doing my makeup for my bridal portraits which will be taken 5 months before the wedding. I will be going to her house each time, even on the wedding day. I think 10 each time will be good, but 20 on wedding day. Thanks so much for the help!!
  • Tip her after the trial, then on the wedding day, tip her agian with a thank you card.   I'd tip at least $100 on the wedding day - that's a massively generous thing she's doing for you.
