Wedding Invitations- What to Include? How to spruce up- PIP

Welp another post bites the dust..I'll try this again..

Hey ladies! I'm ordering my invites. They are complete I just want to make sure I'm not forgetting anything. Thus far I have: Main Invitation, Reception Card and RSVP Card. The Reception card has a link to our wedding website listed on the bottom for additional info. Is there anything else I need?

Also I only have the 3 cards enclosed and the envelopes. Is there anything else I can do to 'spruce it up'? I thought about placing it in a pocket (just one for looks) or tying a ribbon around them. Thoughts?

  • Well the pictures don't show up big enough for me to read them so I don't know if you're missing any information.

Do you have another color in your wedding besides black and white? I feel like a ribbon around it all in that color would really pop.
  • Good call Midge! We are doing champagne as an accent color so maybe I will wrap them in that. Besides the Invite, Reception card and RSVP card is there anything else we should place within the envelope? (Hotel info and directions are on our website).

  • Have you already ordered these?

My suggestions would to add RSVP on the top of your rsvp card. You also need the DATE that you want your guests to rsvp by. I didn't see that on there. I would make the bride and grooms names a little bigger. You could purchase an envelope in Champagne, black, or white from www.cardsandpockets.com and add an envelope liner. Not necessary, but some ideas. You can also get matching envelopes on 6pm.com too.

I'm not sure how to do pockets with these invitations because they're so large, but I think tying a champagne ribbon around them could be beautiful on them too.

  • Thanks Mel and I did not catch that at all (about the RSVP card). I did just order them so I will think of some way of being sure guests realize the RSVP card is what it is. I did put the 'Reply by' date on the card. Hopefully that should help!

*The real invites are filled out differently then the template I attached. So the font is bigger. I did not know how to black out the personal info so I posted the template instead.

I think it should be fine without the rsvp at the top. People aren't stupid, I'm sure they'll know exactly what it is. but it was only a suggestion.

You cannot get matching envelopes on 6pm.com LOL WTH! I meant on Vista Print! I am on 6pm.com way too much!
  • I agree with previous posts about the RSVP card.

We did pocketfolds for ours that I handmade. And we tied a ribbon around the outside to spruce that up.
  • Lol gotcha!

I didn't read all the PPs but my suggestion would be to go to Michael's (or another craft store) and buy small self-adhesive gems and stick it at the top of your invitation within the white design or right beneath it. We purchased pearls and they are flat on one side so that they stick; they are self-adhesive pearls. We put it in the center of 2 flowers that were on the invitation. I think it made them look so much fancier. I purchased enough pearls for 175 invitations and it cost me less than 15 bucks.
