Victory Arts Center?

I looked through the vendor list and searched on the forum, but couldn't find much listed about Victory Arts Center.  Does anyone have any reviews or advice?  We looked at the venue yesterday and I like it, but I'm worried that fitting 200 people into their reception room is going to be a tight fit.  They claim they can fit up to 300!

My suggestion is to go with your gut.  If it looks tight, it probably will be.  My venue claimed they could hold 180 in the ballroom.  On one of my visits, they were setting up for a wedding for 140 (my guest size) and I immediately got worried--it looked soooo tight.  My wedding ended up being 110 (set up for 130) and I cannot imagine one more person fitting in there.

I looked through our old reviews but couldn't find one.  You might ask to see pictures of a set up or ask to come and view an actual wedding or other event being set up so that you can get a feel for it.

Thanks ladies!  My fiance really likes the place.  I like it but have very strong reservations about the space!  And the fact that it will take them 45 minutes to flip the room - that seems like forever for a crowd to be in a small room, standing, drinking and eating cheese.

Not necessarily--our cocktail hour was almost exactly 45 minutes.  It seemed to fly by to me!  :)

I checked out the VAC back in August and was NOT impressed. Mainly due to the customer service (or lack thereof) that I received just for a walk-thru. They seemed very disorganized and I was also concerned about the reliability of the place being in service by next October...when my wedding rolled around. That's something you have to acknowledge, this day in age with the economy being the way it is. There seems to be a lot of transition and turnover and I just was not comfortable with that, especially planning from out of town.

If I were you, I'd look at T&P downtown. I ended up booking at the FW Petroleum Club and have been blown away by the service I have received so far!

    Good luck!

I've been to several events (and to the Tavern) at T&P and don't like the building.  But we decided this weekend to go with Diamond Oaks County Club and we're booked!  Fiance is paying the deposit today and the coordinator already took our date off his calendar.  Woo Hoo!!!
