Sunset Ballroom

Hi everyone!
So since I'm new here i'll put a little bit about myself:
My name is Rebecca and I'm engaged to a wonderful man named Nick for July 2011. We met at a camp and he proposed to me on the exact same couch he asked me on our first date on. I am a senior in college and graduating in December so i'm not very far along in the wedding plans, but we have booked The Sunset Ballroom as our venue. I was wondering if anyone else on here has had their wedding there/know anything about it. I was specifically wondering if they do a tasting and any decoration policies they have, but any knowledge would be appreciated. :)
Thanks!

We looked there, it was our 2nd choice venue. It was a little bit out of our price range, unfortunately. However, my shower was there, so I did get to experience it. Their luncheon was actually really reasonably priced, like $16pp.
The food is great. The staff was really accomodating. My mom asked to bring in doll cakes (cakes that look like bridesmaids and a bride) and they said no problem and didn't charge a cutting fee like a lot of other places.
We attended a wedding there a few months after our wedding and the food was, again, great. Service was good. When we were looking there, my main concern was the lack of separate cocktail hour room. However, when we went to the wedding, it was hardly a big deal. In fact, the weather was nice and people were going to and from the deck that's on the outer edge of the building, and that made up for it.
IMO you can't go wrong with the Lobster Shanty/Sunset Ballroom.

Hi NRCarlson2011, I just had my wedding there on September 18.  We loved it.  Everything about our day was perfect.  If you have any specific questions, feel free to message me.  I highly recommend them.  They were flexible with the small things we wanted to alter, and the maitre'd was phenomenal the day of the wedding.  There actually is a separate cocktail room now, they just started offering it.  They do offer a tasting - you eat at the restaurant, and they bring you out whatever you'd like to taste.
