Candice French Make up Trial

Thanks for the referral NH knotties!  Here are the photos so she get some kudos, she was great!

(Also posted on the Oct. 2010 board)

Finding a make-up artist hasn't been nearly as difficult as a hair stylist, here are the pictures.

She was a lot of fun to work with and such a sweet person.  I'll post this on the NH board too so she gets a little more kudos!

I wanted her to go dramatic with the eyes and she did, but later I realized that I needed to tone it down a little to feel comfortable.  FI jumped when he saw the lashes.

As you can see the lashes are quite dramatic, in pictues not so much, but in person I could hardly recognize myself.

So here is without the lashes:

Very pretty.  I think I like it better without the lashes.  It's just a bit softer.  :-)

Very soft and pretty.  :)  I agree, I'm not a huge fan of false lashes (especially if you don't wear them all the time), but I think you could get away with a similar look using a dark mascara with a few coats.

So pretty! I'm thinking of giving her a call for my make up too!

As a MUA myself, I generally advise against false lashes. You get a much prettier, natural look with a lash-building base and mascara. The look is very pretty, but one word of advice: Avoid shimmer. It looks like she used a shimmer blush or mineral powder. Great for daily wear, but with photos and such the last thing you want to be is shiny in pictures, especially if your skin is oily. I generally use a light-absorbing powder on all brides regardless of skin type bc it gives that flawless, porcelain look as opposed to "dewy." If you have a tendency to shine a bit, go with a matte finish. You'll be much happier with the results. GL! :)
