December photo confusion...sun sets early!!!

Hello,

I'm getting married in December, and the sun sets at 4:20, which is ruining my plan for pictures outside!!  Ceremony and reception at same location, beginning at 6:30.

Please help me plan the timing...I'm so confused!!!  I really want outside shots, but there are some negatives involved.

Plan 1:  Have our pictures taken from 5:00 to 6:00 at the location.  We would miss any opportunity for outside pictures, because the sun would have already set.

Plan 2:  Have pictures taken from 4:00 to 5:00.  We'd get outside shots but we'd have to pay the photographer and videographer an extra hour to begin early.  We'd also have an hour or so to kill after pictures and before the ceremony.

What should I do??  Thanks!!

I would take photos early and start at 4.  You can have the first look photos and then some other outside.  I love outside photos.  Nothing beats natural light in good photography.  You will have a little down time before the ceremony but that is just something you will have to do to get the great outdoor shots.
