Random Poll/Questions

I learned something new about H this weekend which has peeked my curosity of other couples.

If you were not in your current job, what would you be?

If your FI/H/SO were not in the military and/or at their current job, what would they do?

aka Are you in your dream job?

    I'll start (obviously)...

Although I love my job in Law Enforcement, if I wasn't married to H I would be pursuing my dream job being a member of the FBI, or United States Marshalls- Fugitive Task Force.

Now for what I learned about H this past weekend. I have noticed over the years that he knows a lot about weather. I thought it was because he was a pilot and should know these things. Well it turns out if he wasn't a pilot he would want to be a  Meteorologist. He loves staring up at the sky and weather watching. He also defends weather people all the time whenever he hears people complain about them, which is funny to me.

If you were not in your current job, what would you be?
I love my current job (Circuit Coach at Curves). I can honestly say that this is the happiest I've ever been working.  If I weren't working at my job I would be... unemployed?! haha.. but seriously, I've wanted to be a wedding planner since I was 5 years old. I have always been totally obsessed with weddings (one reason why I stick around here!!).  I feel like I would have to establish myself in one area to be a really successful planner so I'm waiting until H retires.. But I will be making connections all over during his career!

If your FI/H/SO were not in the military and/or at their current job, what would they do?
H has always wanted to be a lawyer.  He loves being a Marine, but thats what he wanted to do prior to enlisting. Plus, he's super good at arguing.. No one knows that better than me! I think he's going to start working towards his degree when he comes back stateside. Who knows... maybe he'll become a JAG someday!!

    I'll play!
If you were not in your current job, what would you be?
I'm a special education teacher, and love what I do. I've worked with students of various ages, but find the early elementary age my niche.
But... my dream job would be a ballerina. (yea, it sounds silly)  I started dancing when I was 3, and that was what I envisioned in my future. I stopped dancing at 15. I still take ballet and other types of dance lessons for fun and fitness.

If your FI/H/SO were not in the military and/or at their current job, what would they do?
Hmmm... I actually recently learned from FMIL that when FI was in high school he wanted to attend culinary arts school instead of college, to become a chef. FI is an amazing cook, and I'm horrible. I'm the one who should take some cooking classes!

If you were not in your current job, what would you be?
Well I am not a fan of my current employment situation. I am one of the assistant athletics managers at a local university. I also teach swim lessons and lifeguard. I do a little bit of everything. For now it is fine, but with FI coming home soon and EAS approaching, I need a real "big-girl" job ha. Before I got engaged, I wanted to be an FBI or CIA agent and also do intel analysis. So that is still my dream job but FI isn't crazy about the whole thing. We'll see though.

If your FI/H/SO were not in the military and/or at their current job, what would they do?FI originally went to school to be a PE teacher so I would imagine he'd be doing that but nearly 5 years have passed since he was last in school and he has mentioned on various occasions becoming a police officer or a corrections officer.

If you were not in your current job, what would you be?
Well, I'm currently a full time student, so I wish I was doing ANYTHING else. My dream job since I was very little has been a teacher which is what I'm pursuing. I can't wait to graduate and get my credentials so I can start teaching the little ones!

If your FI/H/SO were not in the military and/or at their current job, what would they do?
FI has always been obsessed with cars so it was no surprise when he chose Motor T as his MOS. If he wasn't a Marine I think he'd definitely be doing something with cars. He was a mechanic prior to entering the Marine Corps, but I know deep down he's always wanted to race cars. More F1 or LeMans type racing rather than Nascar. He just loves cars. Haha.

I'm currently pressing at a drycleaner.  I'm supposed to be a respiratory therapist or health care administrator based on my degrees (hopefully I will be doing the second one for the Army in a few months).  If I weren't married to DH I would probably be doing the same thing (trying to make use of my health care admin degree).

If your FI/H/SO were not in the military and/or at their current job, what would they do?
DH is really working his dream job.  He has wanted to be in the military since he was a kid and has wanted to be a medical provider since junior high...and then he thought trauma would be exciting...  That's a whole other can of worms.  Second runner up is law enforcement, though.  If he wasn't in the military, he would be doing that.

Well I'm currently in school to become a genetic counselor, which is exactly what I'd like to be doing. My ideal job would include some aspect of community education, especially teaching classes or workshops for lay-people or designing educational materials for people with low health literacy.

If your FI/H/SO were not in the military and/or at their current job, what would they do?
This is a great question. Fi always says after he gets in his seven years (his commitment plus enough to earn the GI bill), he's going to leave the Army and go back to school to get a masters in something. But he has no idea what or what he would want to do as a career, and I can't imagine what he would do either.

Well currently I waitress, but that is because I am still a student.  Otherwise, I would be a Nurse!

If your FI/H/SO were not in the military and/or at their current job, what would they do?

When my fiance joined the military he actually only did it because he was trying to join NYFD but he was 17 at the time and apparently you couldn't apply at 17 so that is how he ended up in the military.  SO I guess otherwise he would be with NYFD.

aka Are you in your dream job?

To be a CRNA.  Ahhhh I can dream...one day I will be finished with school!

<div>Lol. Whatever they want out of me really. I took a bunch of practice ASTBs because I always, *always* wanted to be a rotary pilot. However, I really think all of my strengths (and thus my duty to serve) lie(s) on the ground, so my dream MOS fields would be Public Affairs, Intel (esp. CI), or Finance. Seriously though, if they have a need for me in something I'm qualified in, I will be so psyched to be a Marine that I'll be psyched with it.  I've also thought a lot about enlisting so I have a higher likelihood of deployment, specifically into 4641 or 4671 (Combat Camera) which would theoretically lead to 4602, but the President's speech has made me think there may not be a point to that, which is not something I'm not exactly happy with as a strategic decision, but it is what it is.</div><div>

I would be a cruise director or an activities director at some all inclusive in the islands some where...yeah I know it sounds strange.  This is funny to me because when I was in college and my roommates and I would go out we always had a back story that we would use for the the guy at the bar that would just not leave you alone.  Mine was always a cruise director.  Yeah I know strange since there were no cruise ships around and the college was an hour from the coast.

The H would be an ESPN announcer.  If you get where I am going with this...it is all ESPN all the time...thank goodness for more than one TV.  Laughing

I know how you feel about this.  It brings up something I wanted to ask TX if there was any truth to.  My recruiter said that reservists can request deployments and, since that is the only thing I can get in to as a health care administrator right now, I would like to know if that is true.  Guess I should get on that.

If you were not in your current job, what would you be?
Currently I work with clinical trials. It has some awesome perks but can also be a huge pain in the ass. It is a pretty independent job and I work from home on the days I'm not traveling or on site but travel can be super stressful at times. I always wanted to be a doctor but if I could do that and not have to deal with the insanity of insurance and the limits there are because of those things I'd be way more into it. Alas I won't be going to medical school so that's kinda one of those kiddie dreams that just didn't pan out! Now I kinda feel like I need to find something that actually motivates me... not sure exactly what that would be yet.

FI would love to be an architect. He's good at figuring things out, always has a plan in his head, and did a pretty badass job decorating our house.

If you were not in your current job, what would you be?

I'm trying to work in my dream field. I've always wanted to be an astronaut and I would be able to more actively pursue it in other regions. For now I'm just an engineer on air planes which works ok too lol.

If your FI/H/SO were not in the military and/or at their current job, what would they do?
Probably a police officer, he plans to do this after he's out of the Air Force. It seems like all the career options he thinks about wear uniforms. Personally I think its because he doesn't want to have to figure out what to wear haha
