Venue Help - OKC/Edmond Area - LONG POST (Sorry!)

Helping my GF plan a reception in the Oklahoma City/Edmond Area but I live back East and she is in school there and getting married there later this summer since it's cheaper to do it there than back east.

Here was some places that I searched on the internet. and was wondering if someone could give me the lowdown on if these are nice places AND/IF they are really expensive or not.   Depending on the answer I can tell her which places she and FI can go check.  TIA

Here is the list:
River Oaks Country Club
Creekside Chapel & Gardens
Hamilton Event Center
Waterford Marriott
Gaillardia Country Club
Overholser Mansion
Chesepeake Boat House
Myriad Gardens
Gaylord Pickens Museum
Castle Falls

TIA.

I visited Creekside Chapel and Gardens.  It's nice and it is not overly expensive.  FI and I decided though to get married at The Gardens in OKC.  It's very nice and less expensive than Creekside.

    Here is the website........   www.myweddingchapel.net

I looked into Hamilton Event Center and if I remember correctly it was expensive

What is your idea of expensive?  Does she have a budget?  I used to live in NY and I know weddings there and weddings in OK are completely different!  I looked at Castle Falls this weekend and it is beautiful, the price I got for 150 people was about $12,000.  There is also Walnut Creek Chapel and Rosebriar, both very pretty and seem to be good on price.

    Good luck!!

My FI and I went through almost this whole list while we were looking for a place.  We ended up taking the drive to Catoosa (about 90 minutes away) and are gettng married at Skelly Lodge.  There are some great places in Tulsa and Guthrie (which is just north of Edmond) too.

Creekside Chapel & Gardens - pretty and fairly inexpensive.  It's near a busy street so the road noise might bother, especially if the ceremony is outdoors
Gaillardia Country Club - really pretty.  you have to use their catering, so it can get pricey
Overholser Mansion - pretty, they let you do pretty much whatever, and it's not too expensive.  It's located in the middle ofa rich-ish neighborhood near the city center, so it's best for more intimte weddings (think around 100 people)
Chesepeake Boat House - Gorgeous, and you can bring in your own vendors for everything.  it can get a bit spendy, depending on when and what you want.  Really good and affordable for off-day weddings (Sunday or a weekday)
Myriad Gardens - really awesome place.  The Crystal Bridge, which would be the best spot for a reception, is closed until at least April of this year though.  And all ofdowntown OKC is pretty much a construction zone nightmare right now.
Gaylord Pickens Museum - Again, really pretty.  Nearish a busy street, but the lawns are awesome.  You can bring in your own vendors too.
Castle Falls - Gorgeous but spendy.  OUr price quote for 75 guests was $7200.  Of course that included chair/table rentals, catering, and a 2-drink bar per person.

Hope it helps.  I've got tons more info if you need it.

My fiance & I are getting married at the Hamilton Event Center in Edmond.  They are extremely flexible to what they can do & their packages are absolutely great since they do most of the foot work for you.  Less stressful!  I also loved the fact that they have uplighting which comes with your wedding package... not many venues offer that in their package... we've been engaged for about a year and a half so we've done plenty searching and found the hamilton to be the best place.  We got our package locked in last year for about 4500 dollars... I'm sure their prices have adjusted to this years but I'm sure not by much... which includes both wedding ceremony & reception.  It's a no brainer if your on a tight budget but want luxurious style!  Worth checking out!  Oh & another thing they are up to whatever you want to do... no extra charges for outside catering!!

Can you give us a bit more information on her budget?  And the number of guests?
