We used well-known, frequently discussed vendors, so I'll keep it brief!!!
Ultimately, we couldn't have asked for a better experience.
OceanCliff A+: beautiful setting, great food, phenomenal service...my husband and I and entire bridal party had personal servers for drinks and appetizers
Hyatt Rehearsal/room blocks A+: Laura Picozzi was amazing. We had some issues (understatement) with my MIL and she handled her gracefully while keeping me in the loop. Her patience kept me sane!!
Fluke brunch A+: If you haven't visited this Newport restaurant, I'd highly recommend it. They serve dinner only but opened just for us and customized the menu to our desire and price range!!!
Golden Gate Florist A+: Received more than we had hoped for a fraction of the price other vendors quoted...loved working with Jay, super responsive and flexible to meet our needs
David Dadekian photography day of A+: loved working with him, can't wait to see product
Mike Picard Videography day of A+: reputation precedes him!
Konditor Meister cake A+ for product B for service: the cake was delicious and we got so many compliments, colors were perfect and they cover the outside with white chocolate instead of fondant so it tastes delicious. We had some confusion with the price we were quoted, which was a little aggravating, but it all worked out. Also gave us anything we wanted @ tasting (chocolate Bailey's filling

as opposed to other vendors who told us to call ahead with requests and come back
Bride's dress House of Brides A!
BMs dresses Ana's bridals C: dresses were gorgeous but several girls got the run around when promised free alternations or shipping (shipping was the hassle)
Bride's hair and makeup A: Jacki Norrie of Wedding Tresses -- a genius, just expensive
Girls' hair Sam C A+: but you all know that already! She's fast, does beautiful work and is inexpensive
DJ Alan from Moondance B-: he was fine, we knew on a Sunday afternoon dancing may be sparse, but his transitions were a little off and he didn't need to introduce each song...slowed things down, guests lost interest
Carl Anthony tuxedoes A+: awesome, last-minute fittings for OOT groomsmen and drop off and pick up was so convenient
Bella Designs for invitations C- for service: The final product turned out beautiful but for what Diana charges, it was way too much frustration and totally unprofessional. In a nutshell communication was terrible, I had to initiate, she didn't make notes about font so I basically designed the invite myself and then we didn't receive the amount we contracted for. When I contacted her, she said one pocketfold had been damaged. I asked why she hadn't told me and why she didn't contact the company for another. I then realized other pieces were missing ...I jumped to my own conclusions then demanded she take care of it. The bottom line was I was putting these together over my spring break and I wasn't able to start the project until 2 weeks after my desired timeline. They were beautiful in the end, but for this type of $$ customer service needs improvement! I'd avoid this vendor.
If you want more info, I'd be happy to provide it, just thought brevity would be appreciated in this post. Happy planning girls and enjoy every minute of it...time flies!!!
Re: 7/11 reviews
as far as ana's goes....i just bought my dress there...she promised 15% off bridesmaids dresses for my party of 7...when i went back in to browse their selection, she said they would each have to buy the same exact dress in order to get 15% off...or else they only get 10%. no way each of my girls is fitting in the same style. i might take my business elsewhere (the bridal garden which gives 15% off no matter what dresses the bridesmaids buy) and forfeit my free alterations/pressing (which i was promised if my girls all buy their dresses at ana's).
