SS Office

I can't find a phone number for them anywhere. Does anyone know the phone number, or if you can make an appointment with them? I definitely don't want to sit there all day if I can avoid it.TIA!

According to the SSA website appointments are available. Try calling (866) 964-6146. That's the number listed for the local office.

You have to go in person unfortunately.  Have the paperwork filled out before you go or else they won't let you check in.  I went mid afternoon later in the week... around 1:30 and only had to wait like 15 minutes.  Don't go first thing in the week or first thing in the morning... that is when it is the most busy.

No, according to the SSA site if you live in the Orlando Metropolitan area you have to go in person. You can fill out the form before you go, though, to speed things up. And be sure to take a book to entertain yourself. Electronic devices (iPods, phones, PDAs, etc) aren't allowed in the building.

<div>See, that's what I thought it said on the website, too, but DH thought it said that I had to go in person or just mail the form to that office. He's fired. ;)</div><div>
</div><div>That's going to be a major PITA because DD gets out of school at 3:00 most days, earlier on Wednesdays, so if I end up sitting there for very long I'm screwed. Grr. Guess I have to find someone to pick her up for me one day.</div>
