1 Maid and 1 Matron. That's all.

I have only one maid of honor and one matron of honor. My maid of honor is my 21 year old sister. My matron of honor is my 80 year old grandmother. I have no bridesmaids.

Question: It is pretty obvious that because of the age gap, I can not match dresses, however, I am having problems even with the color.

I posted my dress a few post's down asking for BM dress colors. Now, after speaking with my grandmother I am hesitant on putting her in pink. I know that she would not be happy and I want her to be. I do not think she would want yellow (which was a suggestion from a comment I received from the previous post).

Is it okay to not have them match (color and style)
Would it be awkward if they were in two entirely different colors and styles?

Well, after reading your other post, you said it has pink, yellow and green in it. Since you already crossed out pink and yellow.. maybe you can try the green? Green is a nice color.

& I personally think it would be very awkward if you had two completely different styles and colors. That's just my opinion though.

I really love the champagne idea!
  • Do you think Champaign would work with my dress? Maybe that would be the best choice considering that the groomsmen are going to be in white cubaveras and beige linen pants. Then, their bright bouquet's can tie it all together with my dress.

I love it all together.. the ONLY thing I might consider changing (if I were you) is the MOH bouquet. I think the color of the flowers should be a little brighter, to match your dress.
  • Thanks,

The color is MUCH brighter in person. the picture does it no justice. The lighting was bad in the room I took the picture in.
  • Oh good :) I'd say everything looks perfect then!
  • I think it's totally fine to have them in 2 separate colours/styles as long as they go together and are both colours in your colour palette.

I think it would be weird to have a 21 year old and an 80 year old in the same dress, people will understand!  I like the neutrals idea.  Or have grandma in champagne and sister in pink.
