Let's Update the Venue List

I think it is high-time we update the venue and vendor list--most of the vendors I love and am most familar with are from when I was planning my wedding 3 years ago.

So, let's start with venues.  Please list your venue with it's current information--I will use mine as an example.  List as much as you feel comforable.   If your venue is in our current venue list but you know the information is incorrect or out of date, feel free to list it.

(Please note that my info. is from 2009).

This venue is very nice and affordable.  The views are 360 degree views of Dallas which is gorgeous.  Don't be put off by the fact its in "oak cliff".  It's located right off 35, and from the venue there is nothing "ghetto" to be seen.  So unless you or your guests take some back roads to get there, nothing sketchy.  Also its not in a residential neighborhood, so there's no worries about any of that.  It seemed quite safe and I was comfortable with it.  Just saying, if you are looking for something with the views of Dallas, but your  budget doesn't allow for the main hotels downtown, this is worth looking into.

Please note that I believe their prices have actually gone down for 2013. These prices were applicable for my 2012 wedding.

Venue Name:  The Rose Chapel (and Southside Preservation Hall)

    Location/website:  Fort Worth - Historic Southside (http://www.rosechapel.org/)

    Outdoor ceremony option: Yes
Price: For a Saturday: Chapel w/ both reception rooms: $3100, Chapel w/ Ballroom only: $2600, add $200 extra for outdoor ceremony set-up.

DIY:  Yes, mostly. Venue provides tables and chairs and will assist with reception set-up as well as centerpieces (but I wouldn't count on them soley for it). They also provide a DOC.
Exclusions: None. All food and beverages can be brought in by vendors of your choice. Only requirement is a TABC certified bartender.

Notes: Some people don't like the area, but they are definitely in the process of reviving it (there are all kinds of cute restaurants and bars off of Magnolia now). Parking is limited, and many guests will have to utilize street parking.
