  Im not going to be any help for pictures. Dahlias are one of my main flowes. They'll be used with hydrangea for the bm bouquets and cps. I also have coxcomb in a few other things with other fillers. My bouquet is going to be Dahlias, cabbage roses and orchids. I really like texture and color so those worked perfect for us. I don't know cost around you but the flowers I have are high priced but you need less of them because they are so full. I have a HUGE package and its coming in less than $2000 and that's with 30 cps, lots of large displays and ceremony things.

  Dahlias are fairly hardy.  Avalanche roses are an ivory color and they have that fuller look.  Lisianthus is a flower with the "fluffier" look, it comes in pink and a yellow but the yellow is more ivory.

  That's sad.  I still get sad every time I think of the peony.  My florist is getting our dahlias from a local NH grower, so the price is as low as we can get in peak season.

  I'm certainly not a florist and I don't know where you are, b/c different zones could make a difference, but I do grow Dahlias every year and they bloom all the way until October. And I'm having them, along with Gerber Daisies and Spider Mums as my flowers and my florist said there was no problem. So, DirtyWater- in the Northeast you shouldn't have a problem getting Dahlias in September, and I wouldn't imagine S.Carolina would be too much different morenachica-I had checked out Costco.com a while back and they were selling them in bulk and the price was very reasonable. And Dahlias are pretty hardy flowers, b/c I'm not a very attentive "gardener" and they manage to survive.
