Looking for Venue.

Hello all,
My fiance and I are looking around for the best venue for the price in the Philadelphia Suburbs area.  Hopefully something around $100 per person on a Saturday in May 2014.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

I'm getting married at North Hills Country Club in Glenside.  They are willing to negotiate on price, so don't be scared if the prices seem high online.  They will also work with you to customize your package to make it more affordable or more upscale.  The Club Manager is very easy to work with.  Even with me planning from out-of-state he is very responsive and willing to meet around my schedule.  Their typical wedding set up is to have cocktail hour on their large terrace overlooking the golf course withthe reception in the ballroom attached to the terrace.

You should read some reviews online about venues, Center Square has awful reviews about not maintaining their property (http://www.weddingwire.com/reviews/center-square-country-club-norristown/d1087d25b0c85f35.html).  One of my parents' neighbors had their daughter's wedding there and the AC wasn't working (without any warning) in the middle of the summer.   They also did not like working with the Club Manager there at all.  Although the price is attractive, most venues will negotiate.  We actually got North Hills for the price of Center Square.

I've been to a few events at Center Square and I've always thought the grounds were really pretty.   They have  plants and flowers all over the patio that are beautifully maintained. I don't know anything about the manager except that he's been very gracious to the guests, but I disagree with the statement about the grounds.

Take a look at the Aldie Mansion in Doylestown.  (Its in Bucks county – not far from Philadelphia).  I'm getting married there soon! (99 days actually. Double digits!).   They have a variety of different packages and options that help maintain the budget- a Friday wedding there is cheaper than a Saturday.  Heres a link with some photos http://partyspace.com/provider/detail/765 They also do an open house every Tuesday evening, no appointment necessary: very convenient.  Good luck! Feel free to contact me with any questions.

Hi! Have you tried to look at www.partyspace.com? You are able to will in various settings, the vibe you want, and your price range and it will guide you! We went with the Wayne Art Center in Wayne, PA. They are exclusively catered by Jeffery Miller Catering and the space rental (for a 5-hour reception AND ceremony) was awesome.... plus the catering packages can be modified to easily fit any budget. I came in right where I wanted to be and got everything I'd dreamed of.

I second Laura's post.  We are getting married at the Wayne Art Center in May.  THe space is beuatiful, indoor or outdoor ceremony.  The food by Jeffrey Miller Catering is YUM.  Local, fresh, made that day.  After the tasting we were sold!  Wedding cake included.  A consultant from Jeffrey Miller Catering is helping to coordinate the events of the day, and get the other vendors on board with our schedule.
