Military Brides

deployment, job, school, wedding

Sometimes I just want to SCREAM at the top of my lungs and say screw it to everything and just throw a bit of a temper tantrum - but I usually hold it together pretty well.
I'm in the process of getting my Master's degree in International and Middle Eastern studies, in the middle of the semester FI deployed so I went a little nuts for a few weeks. Among school, trying to work as much as humanly possible and plan a wedding, things got a little nuts and I was worried my school work was going to suffer because of it. However, I pulled myself together and got it done. I got my final grades back this afternoon and I have a 3.85 gpa. Me, being the lunatic perfectionist that I am, am a little upset it's no longer a 4.0 but hell, after these past few months, 3.85 is nothing to be upset about.
I imagine there are lots of people on this board doing the exact same thing and some may have kids to add into the mix as well - trust me, it can be done! You can seriously amaze yourself sometimes with how much you can handle at once.
That's all :) Have a great night ladies!

Thats still an amazing GPA!! I have a friend who has a 1.35.

I think we all feel that way sometimes. At least you can vent on here, we don't judge. Go make friends with Ben and Jerry (Phish Food FroYo is my FAVVVEE)!!

My degree was similar (PS w/ a National Security Studies concentration and a certificate in IR from a Middle East focused campus), and you should be super proud of a 3.85!

    Focus on the positive!

I feel your pain!  I'm in school full time, working part time, my fiance is deployed, and I'm trying to plan a wedding...oh and raising a two year old all on top of it!  Being military we're on a tight budget...which doesn't help the stress levels AT ALL.  If you ever need to vent I'm here. :)

I feel ya! My FI was away at training, I was working 30 hours a week, taking 18 credits, and I still finished the semester with a 3.8 :) GO US!
