My beautiful engagement story!

Joshua wrote me all of these letters, and had me "scavenger" hunt them, in my backyard, and I had to go from letter to letter to get the next ones.

Hello My Love,
You may be wondering what this is. I will answer any questions you have after these letters. This is 1 of 4 letters I wrote for you. In this letter, I want to tell you why I love you. You are the most amazing person in the world. So here it goes :)
I love your amazing smile.
I love your little squeak you do when you are excited.
I love the way you look at me when I’m doing something “cute”.
I love you because you hold the same important ideas as I do.
I love that you use your head to see what is right and what is wrong in this world.
I love you because of your high moral values.
I don’t want to keep you wondering what’s going on, so I will let you go on to the second letter. I love you so much. The second letter is out on the back porch in one of the chairs. Sit in the chair it’s in and read the next one. It will tell you where the 3rd letter is at.

At this point he sent me to the backyard to a chair on my patio where I could sit down and read no 2

Hello again Love,
I hope you are still a little confused as to what I’m doing. In this letter I want to tell you how much you mean to me.
You are my world, I hope you know that. You mean everything to me.
I would do anything for you. I would go to the ends of the earth for you.
Every day, I realize just how special I am to have you. You are the most intelligent person I know when it comes to child care and the like.
I can’t wait to one day be married to you. I love you more than I think you even know.
Words cannot describe how much you mean to me. I know that you are a little unsure of our future in the next few years, but I think everything will be alright: especially if I have you by my side.
The next letter is over on the couch swing. Sit and read it, and it will tell you where the last letter is.

Still in my backyard...

To My Darling Abigail,
This is the 3rd letter that I have written that will describe for you what I want in our future.
As soon as I get a better job, I want to buy a trailer home, so that if anything in the future hinders our location, then we will always have a place to stay.
I want to make sure that we have a pool, because I know how much you love swimming and would love to see you doing something you enjoy outside.
I want to have a family. And I know you do too. 20 kids sounds reasonable right? (haha)
I know that I may not be a rich guy, and I may never be, but I want to make sure you have everything you would ever need. If God does not bless me with a great income, that’s ok. I am willing to sacrifice anything I need to, as long as it means that you are happy.
I often picture us being country hicks (hehe) out in the middle of nowhere. With a house in some woods, with a dirt or gravel drive; a home where we can raise a family without having to worry about our kids playing in the yard.
I would love to make sure that this all ends up happening. I ask that you be patient with me, as I may not have the best job ever. But I trust He will lead us to where I need to go.
Your 4th letter is in my hand. I will be in your room. I love you.

He was actually standing the garage waiting for me. Honestly at this point I was TOO excited about the letters and thinking this was perfect to think there could be anything more...

Hello my Beautiful Princess,
In this letter I want to make you a few promises.
I promise to love you for as long as I can. Until the Lord takes my last breathe, I will not stop loving you.
I promise to do my very best to support you in any and every way possible. You are worth more to me than anything else in this world, and I want to make sure you are ok.
I promise to give you as many children as we can handle. I also promise that if you are still open to the idea of adoption, that one day, we can take steps to see that it happens.
I promise to never use you for anything, ever. This includes when we are married.
I promise to protect you from anything and everything that may cause harm to you. Whether that be from something at home, or because of a freak accident. I will always be there if you need me.
I promise, that even if our relationship gets hard, that I will never stop loving you. I do not believe in divorce and therefore will be with you forever, no matter what may happen in our life.
I love you, princess, with my entire heart, mind, spirit, and soul. I want to spend our lives together. Put this letter down when you are done reading it, I have something else to add in person :)

At the end of the "hunt" Joshua held the last letter and it says put the letter down when you are done, so I put it down and Joshua got down on his knee. He said, "I love you so much, will you marry me." I had tears rolling down my eyes and Joshua had tears welling in his, and I of course said "YES". Joshua wrote me the most beautiful love letters and I thank God everyday for him.
