Are you having engagement photos taken? Tell us about them -- the setting, what you will wear, how you plan to do your hair...

Yes we are! We were thinking about going to a park near our home. It is very pretty with stone bridges over streams, old iron work gates, lush greenary. I have no clue yet what to wear, maybe a maxi dress or dark jeans and a pretty sweater. I can't wait to see what everyone else is wearing. As for hair, FI loves it pin straight so I think I will go with that!

We're having them taken, most likely next month or the beginning of October, at Longwood Gardens, which is where we got engaged so I'm super excited. We're total jeans people, so at least one of the outfits will reflect that. There will also be an outfit incorporating a skirt/dress because I'm into them now (only took 32 years!).

I have no idea what to do with my hair. I like it up, FI likes it down so we'll have to compromise.

We are planning on doing them this fall, to incorporate the theme of our wedding. We are thinking about doing them at Nichols Arboretum in Ann Arbor. We can use the fall colors to our advantage as well as the bridges, river and old iron gate. As for what to wear, I have no idea yet. Concerning how I will do my hair, since my hair will not hold a curl, I am thinking straight which is how I normally wear it; I want to keep the pictures natural anyhow. I don't want people to look at our pictures and wonder who those people are.

I have to admit, this question was a little selfish. We're doing our e-pics in exactly 1 month, and I'm still unsure of some things -- would love to hear some ideas/opinions!

We are doing half nature shots, half urban shots (the beauty of Ann Arbor!). I have my urban look down, I think...

We're going to do ours this fall. We live in New England so we want to take advantage of the foliage! Our wedding is going to be nautical so we want something completely different.

I'll probably wear a dress in some pictures and do some others in a cute jacket. My hair is getting longer so it will be fun to actually do something cute!

OMG! If I have my way mine will be at Longwood too! I think it is just the most perfect place for pictures. My wedding photograper will take them (other photograpers charge a sitting fee, the wedding photographer will do it for free) but he's 2 hours away in the Scranton area so I'm not certain we will do it there.
Anyway so that is my dream location, early October, and I would like one outfit to be casual, jeans, etc and one to be a bit more formal, a dress for me, pants and a shirt for FI, maybe with unbuttoned collar, no tie.

I'm looking forward to doing our engagement photos too. Like everyone else it seems, we're waiting until it's cooler outside and has a bit of fall in the air.

As far as where we will be taking the pictures, I'm not positively sure. Maybe Miami University (Oxford, OH) as their campus park locations are absolutely beautiful. Maybe some urban locations in Downtown Hamilton OH.. but there is this cool farm nearby that has an old barn with the old tabacco sign still on it. I'd love to gain permission to do pictures on their property if they would let us.

Clothing wise... I plan on wearing a casual outfit with jeans and a sweater and then maybe a dress in some others. I know I want them to reflect the essense of who we are. (Of course, most days I can be found in my yoga pants and tank top after work. haha).

Engagement night was my first time there, but now I have a very soft spot for the place lol. They have some kind of awesome light show running right now (I could look, but I'm getting ready to log off and get the h*ll out of my office lol) but I think it ends in September...ideally, I'd like to try to make it there beforehand but we'll see how that goes.

I'm having one of my artsy cousin's take our engagement shots - he's done them a few times and they're beautiful. Actually, I should probably text and let him know that he's been contracted haha!

We are doing them next month! Im from Massachuesetts so we were waiting to go back home and do them in the city. Im wearing a summery cocktail dress with heels and straight hair and fiance is weaing his military unform. So excited!

We're doing ours in October! I didn't really want any (cause I didn't want to pay for it and would've been happy to have non-photo STDs), but it's included in our photography package, so why not? I figure it'll be a good way to get to know our photographer and get used to not posing all the time!

As of now, I think we're going to do them in downtown Rochester, MI (where I grew up and near our wedding) and at Van Hoosen Farm, which is this old 19th century farm that has some cool landscape around it. I think I'll probably do some combination of jeans and a sweater and maybe a white dress...? Sounds like I need to buy a white dress

Oh and hair! I'm toying with the idea of going to get my hair cut that morning so it looks good...but I always freak out after my hair is cut and it's really short...so maybe I'll just get it 'done'. I usually do it myself, but I want it to stay and look good. Curls!

As of now we're not having engagement pictures. FI doesn't like the posed cheesiness of them and he's not very good at getting his picture taken. I don't much like it either.

Having our photos done Sept.12. Haven't even really thought about it yet! Luckily my photographer knows all beautiful and urban spots in the Sacramento area so I'm not too worried.

wasn't really considering it. A friend of mine offered to take them for the cost of an SD card for her camera. We are still thinking about it. I would probably not dress up or anything spectacular, and would probably do it in the next month or so. I'm really th eopposite of girly and kinda hating on my body. I'm in no rush. I would probably only use them for scrapping. My family and friends don't need pictures of us being cheesy!
