Eastland Park Hotel

Hi all! Anyone who has used Eastland Park Hotel as a venue, would you recommend them? Would it be possible to have the ceremony and reception both there? Also, what type of a budget should I be considering if I decide to go with them? Just in the beginning stages of planning so any opinions are very, very appreciated. Thanks!

I've been to two receptions there. It's beautiful & everything seemed really well organized.

I believe, for peak wedding season, it's $10,000 minimum on food. Obviously prices might differ if you got married anytime that wasn't between May-Octoberish. I know a couple of ladies who got married in April and had much more affordable options there :) Good luck!

Since I've been on this board, there has been a lot of talk about the Eastland, and people seemed to really love it. I think AngelSmitty recently got married there, and another Knottie named Mainezilla. You might be able to find them on the Maine Nest board, if they don't post here.

My fiance and I are getting married in August 2010 and we picked the Eastland park. The initial thought of a $10,000 minimum sounded like something way out of our league, but after doing lots of research and venue visits it was actually a reasonable amount for the number of guests we are having and everything that was included. EVERYTHING is included (generous apps, 4 entree choices, complete open bar, table cloths/chair covers, center peices, free hotel room for the night of, wedding coordinator for day of).no additional fees other than the required maine tax and the gratuity. We also have lots of out of town guests who are offered a discounted room rate to stay there. In addition to the ballroom, there are some additional rooms for the ceremony, one which is good sized with a fireplace. So far I am very impressed. Let me know if you want any more details!

We looked into the Eastland as well. We opted to go someplace else, for several reasons, but the place seems really nice.

We were looking at a Sunday wedding, and the food min. drops down to 8K I believe. You can also make the per person charge a little cheaper by not including alcohol. (They have an all inclusive package, and one that does not include drinks)

One down side to the hotel...they do not have their own parking. Guests must pay to park next door, I think its ~30 per night.

Hi!!  I was married at the Eastland Park Hotel in July 2009 and absolutely LOVED it!  I would do it there again in a heartbeat...We had no difficulties with them whatsoever, and the $10,000 minimum for peak season was entirely worth it!  I honestly felt like a princess in a fairytale, and people STILL talk about how gorgeous it was there!  If you have any specific questions, feel free to email me at angelsmitty @ hotmail.com!

    Another Eastland Park Bride-
We loved it there, everything went extremely well. The 10K minimum goes very quickly, and you also get a lot for it. I wouldn't worry too much about the parking. Guests can park on the street if they want, and if they are guests of the hotel it is discounted. They also have valet if guests want. Our guests were 90% OOT and it worked perfectly for us. It is pretty hard to find "free" parking in Portland, so I wouldn't let that deter from the hotel.

We had 150 guests and it was perfect.
