Yes! It was on sale half price, already fit perfectly except for about 3 inches in the hem and an inch or so in the bust, and met pretty much all my criteria. I tried on about 12 different dresses between 3 different shops, all pretty much in the same style. Not the best pic from my phone, but you kinda get the idea. The embroidery and beading is all in silver, and I think it's gonna look great next to FI's grey suit.
I got mine for an awesome deal at half off so I couldn't pass it up. I tried on at least 20 dresses before I got mine so I know it was the one. I love looking at it when I go to my parent's house.
@BrightFirefly- I got my dress at a consignment shop. It was never worn but was sent their by a bridal chain since the specific style was going out of circulation and they were running out of sizes. There were tons of gowns that were either brand new or only worn once so they looked new. It was originally $650 and I got it for $240. I'd suggest looking for something like that.
There is a bridal consignment shop around here that I def. want to check - just haven't gotten around to it and David's Bridal has always been an option. )
I bought mine in August. I can't wait to get it, probably in January. I'm nervous though cause I've put on a few pounds since ordering it. So I really need to focus on my diet and get back to excercising before it comes. Which is going to be hard with the holidays. This is my dress...
I bought my dress back in July, no joke. I totally knew it was the one though, so it was an easy choice! Here's a picture although I bought it in the store:
I went shopping early because I had the itch and wasn't expecting to buy so early..but I'm glad I did because after I made the last payment on my dress I got laid off 2 weeks after so...
I bought mine in April and it arrived in October. It's at my parents' house so it stays safe from my curious kitties. My first fitting is scheduled for late March.
Bought one of mine in May and it finally came in last week! (: I'm going to look at it next week, I can't wait. I'm getting two dresses though, so I haven't bought the other one yet but I'm pretty sure I know which one I want.

It can take up to 4-6 months depending on the designer

See - and my family/friends are the opposite - they think it's crazy that I would even start looking this early - but then I look at this poll and see that only 3 of us haven't bought it yet - and I'm like "eeeek"
I plan to check out the consignment shop next week though with my mom. I think that's the way to go. It's still a "wedding store" - but without the price tag. :o)
I got mine last week in Auburn, WA and it is my dream come true- I am in my 40's and alot of gowns are not made for my age group in mind so when I found mine I jumped and when I tried it on, both the clerk and I cried because we both knew it was the one.
Now to find a few things for David, time everything right and try to relax...is planning your wedding this hard???
i bought mine the day before easter and it was in in 3 weeks i was completely shocked. its at my dads house right now. cant wait to go for a fitting. how far out are you supposed to go for your first fitting?

I'm intimidate by the whole process - and trying to avoid bridal stores - as my budget is only about 300 dollars MAXIMUM..but I'd rather it be lower.
EDIT: I'm extremely tempted to wait until prom season - and try to find an Ivory dress...but that's too risky
