Programs...UGH!!!

I am getting married in a church and I am making the programs myself.  I went and bought cardstock paper but then realized it'll be too thick to fold shut.  What kind of paper should I use?  What kind of paper are you using/or you recommend?

Thanks a bunch!

Re: Programs...UGH!!!

  • Well, I orderd mine through Vistaprint (bought a groupon for them...if you're interested, check out the DIY board.  the moderator is the VP goddess) and had them printed on heavy linen paper, so I don't know how much help I can be.  I know that my Martha Stewart paper cutter has an attachment that can "crease" (for lack of a better term) cardstock so that you can fold it, maybe try that?

HTH, and if you don't get answers, try the DIY board.

I'll second the scoring attachment on a paper trimmer. The Cricut one is about $10 for the whole trimmer set and I know it comes with a scoring attachment. I used it when I made my pocketfolds on heavy cardstock. It will give you a nice clean line.
Jena.n.Ross is the VP Goddess and can probably make a specific suggestion on what to use if you want to go that route, the best way to get in touch with her is through her site, but she's not the mod for DIY.

  • I bought a plain wedding invite kit from Michael's. It was $9.99 before my 40% off coupon, then just designed them to be one page, double sided.

  • We did our invitations from American Wedding, the Rehearsal Invitations from Vistaprint and we are making our own programs. I bought a box of program paper from Walmart for $10. (50 pages). I plan to make it like a bi-fold booklet style. Since its already scored card stock, we will use regular paper on the inside and tie ribbon down the middle to hold the booklet together.  (Even though we spent pretty much on our real invitations, we made our own map cards on cardstock and printed them at Kinko's to save a little money)
