Color scheme for "glam" 1950's, pinstripes wedding?

I love the color combination of tiffany blue, chocolate and champagne, but am not quite sure it would work for the theme my FI wants to pull off. Suggestions? I just don't want our wedding to look like a baby shower.

Also, I made my sister a solemn promise I would NOT do black, white and red.

Re: Color scheme for "glam" 1950's, pinstripes wedding?

  • The first colors that came to my mind were champagne, plum and scarlet, and of course black and white.

I don't think you should let your sister influence your color decision so much.
  • How do you feel about the 1950's/glam/pinstripes wedding?

When I think chocolate, tiffany blue, and champage I think South Beach (definitely not baby shower).

Why does your sister insist on you not doing red, white, and black?  If that is what you want I think it would go well with 50s/glam/pinstripes.  Were those her colors or something?  She shouldn't have that much control over your wedding colors in my personal opinion.

  • 1950's pinstripe to me = Black, red and white!! LOL.... if you are TOTALLY aganst that combination, maybe Black, white and Teal, Tangerine, or Sunshine Yellow...

Although I LOVE this color combination, I dont think the Chocolate, Tiffany Blue and Champagne is 1950's themed at all.... nor would I think of a baby shower.... It's completely beachy to me!!!

The 2 color combinations are so completely different.... IMO, you need to chose whice theme you'd like to go with.... And I agree PP, dont let your sister make your mind up for you.... This is YOUR DAY!!!

  • Chocolate brown with a pinstriped glam wedding would be hard to pull off.  How about charcoal grey instead.

Charcoal grey pinstriped suits with crisp white shirs, a tiffany blue pocket square and a great fedora style hat for the groomsmen.  Tiffany blue dresses for the bridesmaidswith champagne colored flowers.  To "glam" the dresses, I would recommend rhinestone detailing either on the dress itself with brooches, bracelets, or a jeweled belt.   Alternatively, you could put a rhinestone brooch on the bouquet.
  • Your sister does not own the colours black, white and red. If that's what you want to do, then do that.

  • My sister and I have both been planning our respective weddings since we were little girls and she is so in love with it.

I thought of charcoal gray instead of chocolate!
