Cake Topper Hell

Hi ladies,I just wanted to know what you ladies plan on doing for you cake topper.  I've looked everywhere for something unique, and I keep coming back to the Expressions swarovski flower cake jewelry.  They are an exact match to my hair piece, but I'm having a hard time justifying spending almost $160 for cake jewelry.  Here is a pic.http://www.advantagebridal.com/swflwecaje.htmlMy intent was to make two of the smaller flowers pins and pin them to the straps of my dress, then use the larger & smaller one for cake decoration.What do you think of this idea?

    What about tracing (or free hand drawing) the shape onto DIY stencils and cutting it out with an exacto knife? Or sheet metal and a tin snips if you're really awesome... then buy a jewelry adhesive and adhere the stones (swarovski or a cheaper version...Hobby Lobby has both. Check the wearable aisle for the cheaper version, or the jewelry aisle for the swarovski or the flat back arcrylic gems).You could even add fun personal touches like incorporating your wedding colors in them if you wanted, and it'll be so much cheaper!Good luck! :)
