Venue Vent (!!!)

So I just need to vent for a second...it's 2 mos. to my wedding and the Wedding Catering Mgr. at our venue (a big white hotel in Estes Park where The Shining was filmed) just emailed to inform me her last day is TOMORROW. Her replacement will be our THIRD contact person in 11 months!! GRR!! To make matters worse, we cannot get anyone at that hotel to respond to emails or return phone calls -- if I could find another venue at this point I would do it -- without hesitation!

    I can't believe such a major venue would go through so many managers! Thats ridiculous!

    To be honest with you I don't know how they have any weddings booked there -- their customer service is absolutely horrible. I guess it's brides like me who rush in and book w/o doing their homework that keep that place in [wedding] business!!

    Ugh- I am so sorry this is happening to you guys!  Her lack of notice also sucks big time. In today's economy, it's amazing that they've had so much turnover in such a short amount of time. I wonder if it's one of those high-turnover fields, or if the place isn't run well in general? That's a rhetorical question- I work in HR, so these are the kinds of things that go through my brain.

    I've heard things like that about the venue. A former chef in Estes ( not there) told me that the turnover for chefs is ridiculous. He said about every three months there would be a new one. So, like in your situation but with chefs. The chef who does your tasting (or another wedding you may have liked) may not be there for your event. Sorry this happened to you. It shouldn't be that difficult to get in touch with your venue.
