My mom lost her job last May because she was missing work for terrible kidney stones. She had surgery twice and was sent home her last day because it was obvious she was in pain. She never used more sick or vacation time than she had, even if it meant she went to work in terrible pain. She has had a hard time finding work since.
She worked briefly in the fall but it was a terrible place- so bad, actually that her staffing agency dropped them as a client. She worked as a consultant (she's a Quality Engineer by trade) to open a salon and the job is ending. She interviewed for a job she really wanted yesterday. It's directly across the street from me, so that made her want it even more. They said she's just too over-qualified. She keeps getting that everywhere she goes, but she can't get a job in the field she worked in for 18 years because she doesn't have a degree.
She's really feeling the pressure financially. My stepdad is going back to his second job because my mom's options are limited (she has Fibromyalgia and standing for a long time is difficult).
They're still doing everything she can for my wedding even though I said I was paying for everything from day one. In fact, they just paid the caterer today.
She just needs a job so she can feel useful again. Sitting at home all day is not something she enjoys. She's very hyper and wants to work. I would appreciate prayers that she will find something soon and that she enjoys!
