Uplighting question

I just saw TeamAandE's pics and I really like the idea of encorporating my colors into the lighting. I think it looks beautiful.My question is my wedding is during the day with a lot of windows. Do you think it will look bad to have the lights since it wont be dark out? I have no idea how that stuff works so advice please.

    I loved having the lighting. It totally made the atmosphere. Can the windows be covered? With that and the lighting you would totally have the illusion its night.

    Yes the shades can be brought down. Since the reception is at 12:00 I was hoping light wouldnt shine through. How much extra did you pay for it anyway?

    I think it only works well if you can't see light coming in from outside. I've seen photos of day weddings with lighting and it just doesn't have the same effect at all IMO.

    Lighting depends on what you want and the size of your room. It generally starts around 1k but Infinity will do 20 par-cans (not LED) for $850 --that was the cheapest I found unless you go through your DJ.

    I paid around 1k and I used Jim from JB Lighting. He has different pics on his website. He will honestly answer any questions you have. He won't encourage you to get something you don't need or won't look good. Pics of my wedding are there too.

    I LOVED having the uplighting... Like everyone said, it makes the atmosphere! We got the uplighting through our DJ... I believe it was $750. I am not sure how it will look during the day... IMO I think it would need to be dark, but will the shades block out all the light?

    I think I am going to look at some peoples websites that do this so they can give me some better advice on what do here. I also have to go to my venue and pull down all the shades to see how it looks.

    I'm using EliteSoundEntertainment.com for my uplights. They got pics on their site, but I don't know how it would look during the day. See if your catering hall can cover the windows
