Minnesota-Minneapolis and St. Paul

vent.

argghhh...I may punch someone in the face! we're closing in on our wedding date - 25 days left, I believe. our budget and my sanity are both completely tapped. and all of a sudden, my FMIL and my mom are both making crazy, silly demands. i.e., my FMIL was initially against the idea of a late night snack. now we MUST HAVE ONE. my mom just discovered the idea of guest baskets in hotel rooms and now we MUST HAVE THEM. they initially shot down the idea of renting a little room in the hotel for an after-party, and now we MUST HAVE IT. etc., etc. seriously. can't.handle. on another, better note, my bachelorette party was this weekend and it was CRAZY fun! we went to a friend's cabin in Wabasha, spent the first night just chilling and playing games, and went out the second night. I think it's safe to say we won't exactly be welcomed back to Wabasha any time soon.

Ugh, that's so annoying! Well if they want snacks/OOT baskets/a room, they can organize that themselves :) And hip hip for fun bachelorette parties!

yeah, that's been my standard response: you do it, and it's not coming out of our budget. seriously, I have quite enough to do without adding all of these things!

Do I need to add "bouncer" to my bridesmaid/makeup duties and get these poopers out of your party???  ;-)Sorry to hear they're being crazy.  I'll help if any new projects come about.  But honestly, it'll still be a GREAT wedding and no one will miss those things listed above.... and maybe we can have our own secret after party room!  HOORAY for the bachelorette party!  Wabasha loooved us.

You girls were a bunch of sassafrass on Saturday(according to Wabasha reports...ahem) haha. I'm sorry your parents are tacking on last minute stuff. Feel free to call a DIY gtg to order, and we'll be there to stuff baskets, etc. ;)

els...good job.  You've mastered the art of saying "no", suggested by the others."Gosh Mom..you're so much better than me at making/organizing (insert stupid, unnecessary, expensive, way-too-late last minute nonsense here)".And, by the way, resist the urge to punch someone in the face.  Cast-covered, black and blue hands don't make for nice wedding photos.  My brother-in-law can provide specifics (although he just smashed his hand and had to have surgery a week before the wedding installing a boat lift).

Adding to the chorus.  However, if you decide to appease some of the demands, look at doing a popcorn bar for the late night snack.  Popcorn is rediculously cheap.  You just have to talk the venue into popping it for you.

Don't worry... FI is probably next...  That's about the time when DH started to want to have input into just about everything for the wedding...  I said "If you want to do it, then YOU find the money and I'd be glad to do it"...  Suddenly we had chair covers LOL..But seriously, annoying as it is, your best defense is "If you really would like to have them, I'm all for it (if it really is something you wouldn't mind having of course), but it's your task and responsibility ($$$)..."

popcorn is what we initially had, but after taxes, fees, keeping servers on later, etc, it would have cost a couple hundred $$.  so I axed it, trying to be nice and saving everyone some money...but nooooooo, no one cares about that apparently. thanks guys.  it's good to know you're dealing with the same things I am.  normally this kind of thing wouldn't be that big of a deal but I'm under a bit more stress than normal at the moment!!
