In a rut!

I'm in a planning rut ever since moving the date from October 17 to March 27 of next year! I've got more time now.. so I'm being lazy lol. I am about to order new save the dates though and send them out the first of August. I've been more focused on finding a job... is anyone else out there having trouble?? Does anyone know who is hiring or where's the best place to search? At this point, I'm up for anything.. retail, office, whatev! Thanks as always girls! Hope everyone is doing great! :)

I've got nothing.  My husband is still unemployed too.  It's really hard right now.In regards to wedding planning... I'm one of those people that needs deadlines.  Set yourself some deadlines and see if that helps get the fire under your bum burning.

Yeah, the job market is tough right now.  I know so many people who are unemployed. In fact, one of my friend's companies wants to get rid of him with cause, and has been looking for an excuse to sack him. Apparently, they do not want to just fire him (or anyone) because the company's unemployment insurance will go up. It is insane. I sympathize with the planning rut too. My wedding is on your old date, and I have been so lazy since getting the invites done.~Julie

I know how you feel with not having a job. It took me 3 months to find a job after I graduated (and I had been looking the entire semester prior to graduation, too). I am not sure what your kid tolerance is, but I was a nanny while looking for a job... at least the rich families who have jobs can pay us without a job a little something? Haha. In April, I finally found a job outside of Austin. Stay optimistic and apply for EVERYTHING! You never know what an opportunity may become. Good luck and keep your head up! As far as the planning, I completely agree with the deadline suggestion. I have set monthly deadlines for myself and am finding that most helpful.

Oh and another suggestion is to substitute teach. I know it may sound dreadful but the pay is pretty decent and it's really flexible, so you can do that and search for a permanent job/interview/etc too.

Yeah I got laid off in January, and it wasn't until April that I found a part-time job. It sucks, but I'm trying to stay optimistic. I thought about substitute teaching too. I like that's it's flexible, and the pay is decent.

Just hang in there and keep your spirits up.  I was laid off at the end of October last year, found a temporary job in MARCH! and then the stars aligned and I got a full time position in May.  Apply EVERYWHERE.  And make sure to look religiously on Craigslist.  That's where I found my job. =)

Ugh! I have been looking on craigslist all the time... but no one ever responds to emails and usually there is no phone contacts! Ahh! I can't give up though!
