Is everyone using a cardbox of some sort (i.e. birdcage, mailbox, etc...). I have been debating this because to be completely honest I am not expecting anything. Should we still have one just in case?
We definitely are since we are doing a small registry to encourage cash gifts (for a house.) Just going to go to hobby lobby and get a pre-decorated hat box or something of the like. Then add a couple of touches to personalize it and cut a slit in the top.
I am sorry but I can't keep everyone's wedding stratight.. IF you are having a reception with more than immediate family I would have something. Even if it is just a basket with a pretty paper sign and bow (or whatever you choose.)
Or designate one family memeber to collect any cards laying around or that people offer up.

We're also having a small a registry, so I think we'll get a lot of cards. We have a lot of silver accents going on. I found a large hammer silver bowl that we're going to use for cards. I like it so much that we have it out in our apartment now.
Definitely will use one. Also, unless you have someone you are going to designate to watch said box...make sure it has a lock on it. I was a BM in a wedding recently and they had quite a few cards stolen because the box was overflowing--one of those cards was the one from FI and me. Imagine how awkward that was for the B&G to explain to guests...I would seriously consider a locked box if you aren't having one.
Oh, and to comment on not expecting gifts...I mean, even in a scenario where you only get one card, it still needs a safe place to live until you can keep it safely with you/FI.

I saw some cute mailboxes on Etsy but I'm like you...not really expecting anything since it's a DW. I'm not sure what to do!
We are having one- two actually. FI and I are huge sports fans- he is a diehard Cincinnati fan while I breathe Ohio State. Everyone knows this about us, so we are thinking of having 2 cardboxes- one UC, decorated by FI, and one OSU, decorated by me. We will put a sign telling guests to put the card in the box of their favorite team. Hope this isn't too cheesy!

Since FI and I are already living together, we are only doing a small registry and a wishing well. I wsnt sure how to word it on our website, so I used this link:
Then went on Amazon and Etsy and searched wedding wishing wells, so our cardbox will actually look like a well. Something like this: (but i'm going to paint it red to match our colors)

We're using a birdcage which was just used in my sister's wedding. A lot of her items from her wedding are being recycled in mine...best to put them to good use!
I am in the process of making a photo fram card box I found on pintrest. My dad is going to put it together with a pop up lid. Our engagment pictures will be used as the pictures whenever they get back to us!
honestly, it hadn't even crossed my mind until now. Hmm. At my last wedding, I bought a big basket with a handle, spray painted it white, cut out carboard to fit the opening (plus a cut out for the cards) wrapped it in batting and satin, then glued it on. After the wedding we popped it off and used the basket to hold magazines in our living room. lol

My cousin gave me hers so I'm going to add some pink ribbon to it and have it out just in case.
